At Single Coil Guitar Repairs I believe that virtually any guitar can be improved with a set up and made to play, sound, feel and look better with a little work and time spent on it. Even new guitars often need a quick set up to realise their full potential. Beginners often give up trying to learn the guitar, after struggling with an instrument with a high action (or sometimes too low), poor intonation and dirty, dead strings.

2 lovely Robbie Krieger Custom Shop Gibsons. Signed by the man himself (and probably played by him, bet he couldn’t resist it). An SG and a great sounding (thanks to the Seymour Duncan mini humbucker and a P-90 in the bridge) Les Paul.

Next up, Greg Lake’s Gibson J200 and a Gibson prototype built for Chet Atkins which somehow ended up belonging to Steven Seagal. The signed Chet Atkins model boasts over-engineered, flip out winding-handles on the machine heads and individual string fine tuners.

Don’t want to shout too loudly about this as the last thing any repair person wants is to make a name for routing/fitting Floyd Rose trems but I was so pleased with the way this turned out.
“I saw on Instagram that you fit Floyd Rose’s. Can you fit a one to my fretless, acoustic Bass?”

This almost pristine Goya Rangemaster has an impressive array of (very) old school lever-operated tone controls and questionable pick up combinations. It also has a handy mirrored volume k**b for checking your hair mid solo. What more could you ask for from a guitar?
