🎓Starting university or college this autumn? Protect yourself with the MenB vaccine at Cottingley Pharmacy!
Meningococcal B (MenB) is a rare but serious bacterial infection that can cause meningitis and sepsis. Students living away from home for the first time may be at increased risk, so getting vaccinated is an important way to help protect yourself.
You may be eligible if:
You are 17 or 18 years old, born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008, and are registered with a GP surgery in England.
OR
You are under 25, born on or after 21 July 2001, and are starting university or beginning a further education college as a residential student for the first time this autumn.
This also includes:
International students
Students from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man
Students travelling abroad to study
From 20 July 2026, eligible students can receive their MenB vaccine at Cottingley Pharmacy. If you're using the pharmacy service, you do not need to be registered with a GP surgery.
