Like most of you, we are hugely excited for Grand Theft Auto VI and have immense respect for what Rockstar is building.
However, right now we don’t think we will be stocking GTA if they are indeed going to be officially released as a "code-in-a-box."
We’ve always believed that when you buy a physical game, you should actually own it. A plastic case with a digital voucher inside doesn't offer the true benefits of physical media—like the ability to share it with a friend, trade it in, or keep it safe in your collection for years to come. We want to stand up for the value of your hard-earned purchases.
We also do have a lot of digital only customers and they prefer it that way, each to their own.
If Rockstar decides to release a version with a real disc in the box we will of course be stocking it.
If the game installs really are hitting the 200GB mark, I think SSDs are going to be in huge demand by the end of the year. Prices have already been creeping up since Christmas, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see demand spike as we head into November.
