😢 Sadly, more and more independent high street shoe shops up and down the country are closing.

👣 Fortunately we are still standing on our fantastic high street. Some days we can be quiet others busier. Over the years shopping trends have most definitely changed.

📏 If you didn’t already know, here at Footprints we specialise in the measuring of feet and fitting of footwear, with this in mind, over the years we have really struggled with putting our little shop online as it takes us away from our face to face fitting and measuring.

🦶We have shown and told you many times that a shoe size from one brand can fit very different to the same size in a different brand, the “online customer“ wouldn’t know that!

💻 Well after lots and lots of thought, chats with friends, family and customers, I have decided to take a massive step to open an online store (which I am just starting to work on whilst away in Norfolk with my family).

💻 This is to start with a trial to see if it works and if customers further afield would like to use it.
I will be giving as much information as I possibly can on how styles fit to avoid footwear not fitting and I will also be offering distance fitting services (a little like we did in Covid times).

👂🏻I’d love to hear your thoughts (because they really do matter to us).

⚠️ A few days ago whilst shopping with my Jake in Manchester I called into a well know highstreet shoe store to take a look at what they had on offer for you guys who like to purchase off the shelf and to get them fitted yourself.

This is what I found…..
1️⃣ No staff seemed to be around to help and support or give advice on sizing and fit.
2️⃣ Two foot gauges were left on the side for public use, no explanation on how to use them.
3️⃣ Although there were leather upper shoes, most were synthetic (once scuffed no going back!). Also they can cause feet to sweat more than leather, this can lead to foot infections like athletes foot etc.

One very worrying observation was of the two girls sitting down trying to work out what size their feet they had.

😲 They were asking each other how do we use the measures, they were guessing and trying to work out which way their feet should be placed on the gauge.

Coming to Footprints to have your feet measured or your current footwear checked takes all the worry, stress and guesswork out of finding a pair of shoes that fit “properly”.

⚽🏆 THE WORLD CUP HAS COME TO FOOTPRINTS! 🏆⚽

The excitement is building as nations from around the globe battle it out on football’s biggest stages (football pitches across the USA)… and we’ve brought a little bit of that World Cup magic to our window display! 🌍⚽

🌍 With football bunting, training cones and our very own World Cup trophy, we’re celebrating the beautiful game and all the countries that make it so special ⚽️

🧳 We are taking a little family holiday to Norfolk.

When I say we, that’s me, my parents, aunty and of course little Frankie Doodle.

Many of you have told me over the years what a lovely part of the world Norfolk is, and I can’t wait to explore it for myself. I’ll keep you updated about our adventures 🐾👣

😢 Unfortunately I couldn’t get any cover for my week away, so sadly Footprints will be closed until the 19th June (re-opening on Saturday 20th June at 10.30am).

❤️ I’d like to thank you all for your understanding, but it won’t be all feet up and relaxing as behind the scenes I will be working on another significant and upcoming event along with developing new ventures and collaborations over the next few weeks.

📣 I can’t wait to share more information with you soon. In the mean time, I hope that June’s weather picks up soon.

❓How do you get your posts out to your followers?

🗣️ So many times customers come into the shop and during conversation I find out that they don’t see many or any of our social media posts, and haven’t for a while 😬

❓Why do we only see some, the occasional one but not all of the posts from the people or business we follow? WHY????

😖 This drives me insane as writing for social media and trying to make good posts, informative posts, interesting posts is important to me.
I don’t want to throw out rubbish, daft, ridiculous posts, I want them to be a benefit to the reader, I’m also not one who wants to push sales down your throat! Yes I want you to see what our new stock/arrivals are but I don’t want to be just sales, sales, sales.

📣 So help me out here (well that’s anyone who might actually be able to see THIS post.)

❓What type of content do you want to see from Footprints?
❓If you are a social media expert or in the know, what type of content WORKS well, and why?

❤️ For me it’s about the WORDS, the INFORMATION, the HELPFULNESS a post can offer you.

🎶 I want you guys to be singing from the same hymn sheet as me, I want my customers to want the best for their feet or their children’s feet just like I do.
