REED DIFFUSERS
Reed diffusers work by absorbing the fragranced oil up through tiny capillaries in the reeds and releasing the fragrance slowly into the air. A lot of people prefer them to candles as there is no flame and can be left unattended.
TO USE
To use your diffuser, wear gloves and unscrew the cap and remove the plastic bung, any spillages should be wiped up immediately, avoid placing your diffuser directly onto painted or polished surfaces as damage may occur,we always recommend placing your diffuser onto a coaster, and in an area away from children and pets.
Replace the screw cap and insert the reeds. For a subtle fragrance you may insert less than the 5 reeds provided ,the less reeds used the longer your fragrance oil will last, more reeds will allow for a stronger scent but will use up the oil faster.
WHERE SHALL I PLACE MY DIFFUSER?
Diffusers can be used anywhere in your home, please note that they work best in areas of high traffic, whereby people walking past will circulate the air around them and spread the fragrance around the room, reed diffusers are not designed to fill a whole room with fragrance in the way candles and melts do.
Some lighter fragrances work best in smaller rooms such as bathrooms, try to avoid placing your diffuser bottle in direct sunlight as this can speed up the evaporation of the oil.
HOW LONG WILL MY DIFFUSER LAST ?
This depends on many factors, how many reeds you use, placement, how warm your house is ( the warmer the room the more scent you will smell but it will use the oil up quicker) and if you flip the reeds regularly.
At Huffy Hog ,we use fibre reeds as they have been shown to clog with fragrance less than traditional bamboo reeds, fibre reeds generally do not need to be flipped for this reason ,but if you want to refresh them ,then you may flip them ,just remember to wear gloves to do so and wipe up any spillages.
In normal household testing ,we have found that using 5 fibre reeds are lasting approximately 12-14 weeks, however these were placed in areas away from direct sun , whereas one that was tested in a sunny area lasted 8 weeks.
Should you feel that your fragrance has started to diminish ,it can be due to household dust particles becoming trapped around the reeds ,in this case you may purchase a set of replacement reeds, and when your oil is finished you may purchase either a refill or try a completely new fragrance.
All our clp labels for individual fragrances are clearly fixed to our products and are also available as files to browse,on each product page
With proper usage reed diffusers are no more harmful than everyday cleaning products that are used in your home.
It is however wise to keep away from children and pets,as you would with any other chemical.
