How annoying to have to retype a post when insta “blips” and deletes the one you’ve just done 🤬
Anyway, this is me on my last day in London, wearing an ME+EM blouse which was a birthday gift. I wanted a blouse that I “wouldn’t save for best”. I wore it with barrel leg jeans and trainers. We hired Lime bikes and rode to the embankment and walked along it. A great way to see London, as you’re whizzing by.
I played village rounders on Sunday - north vs south. I was worried I’d injure myself on uneven playing fields but it was a lovely way to meet some of the younger mums in the village. My kids fled the nest a few years ago so I don’t get as involved as I used to, and suddenly you realise you don’t know many in your neighbour hood!
A week of gardening, cleaning and admin 😬 boo hiss .

On my way to London!
Still get excited to go by train….till it’s 30 mins late and we have to stand up all the way and the air con is so vicious, I have to put my coat on 😩
Still - once we’d arrived, consumed some champers, got changed and headed to the theatre to see Sinatra, everything seemed so much better 🤣
I loved the musical - learning about Sinatra’s career and life. I never knew he and Ava Gardner were a “thing” 👵🏻
As usual city breaks create a minefield of wardrobe planning, especially when the forecast is warm with a high chance of rain. These culottes work well in these conditions - less exposing in rain, but cool in heat. Obviously trainers are the choice of footwear “du jour”. And a super light raincoat is chucked in my day bag.
Hope you’ve got fun planned this b/hol. My garden seems grateful for the rain ☔️

Who knew you could get a photo like this in Leicester?
I was watching a free music concert not far from the Guildhouse - I didn’t stay to listen as I was hosting my French Meetup group. You get to meet such a variety of people and the thing in common is we all have to speak French. There was a lady from the DR whose native language is Spanish, married to a French man and they speak English at home. A 23 yr old student who’s just finished his French and business degree. A Romanian lady who speaks English, Portuguese, and French. Plus a few others and me, who only did O level French!!
Enjoying the cooler weather. My poor sister in Glasgow is still getting rain ☔️
Dress is a few years old, but my Mary Jane crochet shoes are new from Zara.

Back safely from travels 😎
I quite enjoy a bit of graffiti and find when it’s done well, to be quite an expression of creativity or a political message. Sofia had loads of it - some mindless and some interesting. What do you think? Another city I’ve visited with tons of graffiti- is Naples.
We had a day with a teeny bit of rain yesterday, and it’s amazing how it makes you feel summer’s over. 😢 I’ve loved being able to sling shorts on every
morning, wearing strappy tops in the evening and never having to carry a cardi! Who else thinks there’s going to be payback for the lovely weather we’ve had?

Leaving Sofia after a wonderful 4 day break, exploring the city, understating the history, sampling the wonderful food and cocktails, climbing mountains and whizzing along forest trails on an e bike!
I knew absolutely zero about Bulgaria before coming, but have enjoyed meeting the lovely kind people and experiencing Bulgarian life. It’s a city rich in history. The food and drink and ambience was amazing - but worth researching the right places or you end up in the tourist drag. And 2 days out of the city introduced us to normal life, chatting to our guides and learning more about modern Bulgaria.

Birthday vibes from a week ago 😎
I was looking at a quiet birthday weekend, so I called up my 2 besties (my daughters) and we spent a lovely evening having a cocktail and eating Hive & Honey Leicester.
Food was delicious (having been poo poohed by my London daughter, she admitted is was delish)
The next day was one of my favourite things to do - a lovely walk in Derbyshire. We started in Tideswell and walked in Monks Dale, Millers Dale and part of the Monsal Trail. The reward, obviously, was tea and cake. 🍰 ☕️
So that’s it, another year ticked off.
My culottes/shorts are fabulous and from Zara and my blouse was bought reduced from ME+EM last year. Sandals were Monsoon, bought for a wedding and now surprisingly getting some mileage out of 🙌🏻

Visiting Dyffryn Fernabt Gardens in Pembrokeshire
Had the most amazing week in Costa del Wales and spent most days on the beach as it’s where the dogs could cool off in the sea. I can’t tolerate it like I used to so generally 2 hours were the max.
Places I love to visit - Marloes, Dale, Cardigan, Melin Tregwynt and Fishguard. All steeped in history of French invasions and druids!
Back home now to a mostly dead garden 😢 and chores etc.
Oh well 🤷‍♀️

So lovely to get up and dress in light summery linen and cotton - things that I’d normally reserve for hot holidays 🌞 🏖️
Dog walking is a mix of joy at wearing crop shorts and pain at the bramble scratches as all the paths are super over grown.
And sadly my garden and lawn are struggling with lack of rain, but I shan’t complain as we know winter will probably be long and wet as pay back 🙄

Night out with some girl friends.
Bought these sandals for my nieces wedding but I’m actually getting some good use out of them! The platform sole means they don’t feel too high to walk in.
Have a fun filled Sunday - weather is much cooler here and a bit cloudy. Time to do some admin!!

Changing denim shorts from boyish to feminine with a blouse and a low heel.
Sometimes I embrace the whole boy look - T shirt and trainers - but usually I’m at the beach or dog walking 🤣
Enjoying the slightly cooler weather to walk my dog during the day and to do my garden.
