First time at this venue. Oasis lakes north Somercotes.
There are 3 lakes here and after a quick look around decided to fish road side lake. It was a very slow start at first fishing at 11 metres in 8 feet of water, I soon realised that all the fish seemed to be high in the water and not on the bottom, so switched to a shallow rig about 2 feet deep and that did the trick, a fish every chuck, in the end I got them back to within top kit plus 2 to speed it up.
Very enjoyable day ended up with just under 30lb of roach would love to give it another go when it properly warms up.

Yesterday was our jolly boys annual trip to Stratford upon Avon with Adam Nurse , we have been coming here for several years now and yet again it didn't disappoint, the only let down was the weather with very strong winds and rain which made things very difficult at times. I fed two line's 6 metres with bread and 12 metres with h**p, It was quite a slow start on bread punch so after about an hour I decided to bait up my feeder line and after twenty minutes had my first look on it and had a 4lb bream 2nd chuck
Followed by a few smaller ones and a10lb pike, after an hour struggling for any more bites so switched to h**p line and didn't look back, ended up with 29lb in total 18lb of roach and 11lb of bream. Adam also had a good day with 21lb.
Weights would of been even better if it wasn't for the wind and pike trouble. Can't Wait until the next trip.🎣🎣🎣

Yesterday was the last day of my Christmas holiday so I decided to have a quick splodge on my local cut at Glen Parva, only had bread and h**p so that will have to do. It was a bite a chuck at the start on bread all be them very small, but after a couple of hours I tried the old h**p line and had a great run of quality roach, one of them nudging a pound. forgot to take my scales but I would guess there was 7lb plus

Great end to the year today with the wigston 2 peg open at Stratford, top rod was myself with 14lb of quality roach on h**p and runner up was Adam nurse with 9lb 6oz of skimmers caught on ground bait feeder.

Great day on the canalised river soar to day at Aylstone, with a bit of colour after yesterday's rain, started on ground bait & caster which produced a few roach , switched to my h**p line and fish a chuck , later on feed some chop worm & caster which turned out to be a good move with this 2lb 12oz perch and a total weight of 13lb 6oz
