It’s been 10 days…since I posted about buying a Holy Grail find.
It’s been ~125 years…since this specimen was created.
It’s been ~100 years…that this specimen has been considered a fox.
It’s been 90 years…since the thylacine went extinct.

It’s only a matter of hours until the first ever x-rays will shine light on what it actually is.
Keep your googly eyes peeled here on my grid.

The tatty, googly eyed taxidermy “fox” head that sold for £62,600, and has taken the world’s media by storm.

Is it real?
Is it a fox?
Is it a thylacine?
Is it a Tasmanian devil?
Is it a bush dog?
Is it a baby bear head cut off a full mount and put on a shield in the 1980s?
Is it a hoax?
Does it have its skull inside?
If the skull is inside, how complete it is?

We now have the answers.

Do I have egg on my face, or are there lots of delicious hats about to be eaten?

I’m so proud of this discovery.
The find of a lifetime, multiple lifetimes!
The Holy Grail of natural history collecting.

The media coverage is exhausting, and my apologies that my business has taken a back burner for a while. This is important. I want to share it with the world.
Thank you for following along.
Stay curious,
James

P.S. please note that the head is not on display, nor kept on my shop premises. Other than for media coverage, it remains in a safe in a secure location until such time that I am able to have it on display.

It was 9.45pm here in the UK, but here is my live interview with Australian national TV show ABC News Breakfast.

With the explosion of international news, and incredible media interest, it made me wonder what the Thylacine would actually make of all of this!
It’s fantastic that this historic and previously undocumented specimen is putting light on such a fascinating and enigmatic species that sadly went extinct 90 years ago.
