When I first met Sir David, it was at a book signing. The queue was enormous in the great hall at the winding around Dippy.
As each person got to him, a pile of letters and drawings given to him began to tower. And when it was my turn, I added the letter I had written on the pile.
I didn’t expect anything.
A few weeks later, I received this in the post.

Not only had he replied, he had clearly read my letter.

Having turned 100 years old on the 8th, my feed is full of people’s reflections on Sir David. And his diligent replying to fan mail is just one example of what a remarkable man he really is.
