Surprise! 🤡 PLEASE READ
Facebook in all its wisdom has now decided I’m only allowed two external links per month for my posts.
This means I can’t link to my website as often to show you my true business content - ie my latest vintage items for sale, plus informative blog posts - without paying for the privilege. Any other page owners noticed this? Anyone else livid?!
Facebook (Farcebook) was already limiting reach for posts with links in anyway, so this feels like a double blow. I set this page up in 2014 and to me that is them ripping the ‘contract’ I first ‘signed up’ for from right under my feet.
My original aim for my page was to add value to my customers. To share my fab vintage items for sale to my followers along with other related content. Most of my original followers were here because they wanted to buy vintage and also be part of a like minded community.
It worked for a while and I helped fill your homes with joy, but then Farcebook decided they needed to make even more money.
Hence the recent changes. As I didn’t start a page in order to spend money to create actual useful content for my followers who love surrounding themselves with vintage, I refuse to do so now.
This page will therefore have to become something I have recently suspected it will need to be - a pure nostalgia page. Any content that actually helps build a relationship between my customers and my business is effectively banned.
I am basically creating content for Facebook, not my customers. I will earn a bit of money from it but not as much as having regular customers who love my business!
I have pinned some posts on how you can connect off Facebook and please do sign up for my mailing list or check my website regularly. Especially if you are here to buy vintage.
Sorry about that folks but in the meantime, enjoy my nostalgia!
Thanks Farcebook 😬
PS I might experiment with creating my added value content on Instagram so make sure you are following me there
