This barrel shows a great example of its past as a Scotch whisky barrel. These barrels are often used multiple times before retired. Scotch and Irish barrels are used anywhere between 10-30 years and often reused in that time.

Once they no longer impart a significant flavour to the spirit then they are retired and you can use them for a number of things!

On the left is a Hogstead barrel which is typically shorter and wider - These are £50.

On the right is a Sherry barrel which is taller and slimmer - these are £60.

We sell good quality, reclaimed oak whisky barrels (hogstead + sherry barrels)

Hogstead are typically shorter and wider (approx 32” tall and top of barrel 25.5” diameter) whereas the Sherry barrels are taller and slightly thinner (approx 39.5” tall and top of barrel 23” diameter). Be aware sizes can vary.

These beautiful casks are great for tables, DIY projects e.g planters for the garden or even ice baths!
