Love the look of traditional Fair Isle knitwear but find wool a little too itchy? This beautiful lumbercoat could be just the thing.

Hand knitted locally by Mary, it features classic Fair Isle patterning and all the warmth and character of a traditional design, but is made using a high quality, soft acrylic yarn that's comfortable for those who cannot wear wool.

❤️ From Shetland to Sweden ❤️

There is something rather special about seeing one of our locally hand knitted Fair Isle yoke jumpers finding a new home across the sea.

This beautiful jumper was chosen by a customer for her daughter in Sweden, and here it is being worn and enjoyed exactly as it was meant to be. Surrounded by sunshine, greenery, and a curious canine companion. 🐶

Every jumper at Eldamato is lovingly hand knitted in Shetland by our talented local makers, carrying a little piece of our islands wherever it goes.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful photograph with us. It brings a smile to our faces to see Shetland craftsmanship being worn and appreciated so far from home. ❤️🧶

Eldamato is open and the sun is shining (well, it is right now). We are tucked away just off Commercial Street, down the lane beside the Peerie Shop Cafe and only a stone's throw from the harbour.

Pop in for a nosey and browse our hand dyed yarns, fibres, locally made knitwear, and crafts. If the sun is shining, you can even enjoy a cuppa next door before or after your visit. ☕🧶❤️

Prices start at just £15 and go up to £22, with a beautiful range of colours and fibre blends to explore.
