Jamiesons of Shetland

Jamiesons of Shetland Jamieson’s is a family business, which has specialised in wool from the native Shetland sheep for 5 generations.

Dedicated to the survival of this unique fibre, as each new generation joins the business, this promotion becomes their life’s ambition. Unfortunately, 'The Mill' shop in Sandness will remain closed to the public for 2022. All our mill shop stock is now in our Lerwick shop.

Summer seems to have disappeared from Shetland already but our window display is still giving some nice summery vibes!

Regatta's are a common feature around Shetland during the summer months. They feature both sailing and rowing in traditional boats called 'yoals'. Haven't spotted many with a Fair Isle patterned sail though, perhaps we can start a trend? 😆

If anyone would like to borrow some of our rain, we'll happily trade it for some nicer weather!!

Earlier this year we were delighted to design a unique Fair Isle sweater for the Junior Up-Helly-Aa band to wear as part of their 'uniform'.

Music is an essential part of the festival and the band members are all young volunteers who put in a huge effort to provide some exceptional music. We're thrilled to share the launch details of their new EP.

You might see a rather familiar young lady in the band if you've been in our shop this summer! 😉🎻

We've had a great evening at the 2026 Hat launch celebrating our brilliant new patron and her gorgeous hat, the Birsie Beanny!

We absolutely love the Sea Urchin colourway which is knitted in our yarns, a fabulous selection of blues and purples.
The 'toosks' (tufts) on top are completely unique idea, very typical of Helen's innovative designs.

Kits are available online and in store now!

It's not very spring-like up here in Shetland so we thought we might try to banish the gales & sleet with a soft Easter themed palette!

Our Lerwick shop will be closed for the bank holiday on Monday so orders placed over the weekend won't be despatched until Tuesday at the earliest.

We would like to wish everyone a lovely Easter weekend - hopefully the weather is nicer wherever you are!

The colours from left to right: 135 Blue Danube, 764 Cloud, 104 Natural White, 350 Lemon, 769 Willow & 794 Eucalyptus.
