David's Music We're an independent record shop! David’s Music is an institution, tucked away in the most unassuming of provincial towns. Not only are we a Record Shop though.

Some sources claim there are more trees than people in Letchworth but that doesn’t stop people making their pilgrimages from far and wide to come and check out our outrageously comprehensive range of new and second hand CDs and vinyl, as well as our regular instores which thus far have seen acts ranging from young upstarts like Hadouken to established bands like Ash, The Thrills and Get Cape... getting sweaty in our premises. Between us our knowledge is as comprehensive as our stock, we love what we do and we’re good at it so come and pay us a visit. We stock a huge range of DVDs (films, music and special interest) and music books.

Marrying punk protest songs with a joyful celebration of trad music, Cailín explores themes of colonialism, inequality, religion, internalised shame and forgiveness and family, drawing on the rich texture of Irish folklore and mythology. The tradition of strong Irish women is at the heart of the record, from the young girls celebrated on the “90s grunge eyeroll” of title track ‘Cailín’, to the resourceful single mother navigating the housing crisis in ‘Póg Mo Thóin’ (“There’s all these politicians arguing with each other on news programmes, then you cut to people’s real life and it’s like, can’t you just fu***ng help them?”), to Nash’s grandmother, memorialised in the poignant yet joyful ‘Irish Saints’.

The legends at Strut Records & Duncan Brooker have compiled the follow up to the iconic Nigeria 70 series.
Every track on the compilation is reissued for the first time, highlighting Highlights the rise of independent record labels (such as Tabansi and Phonodisk) during a period of political and economic shift.

The good folks at Dinked have done it again with a really gorgeous edition, featuring 'Inksplosion' coloured 2LP (one red & white, one black & white)
+ A2 poster, gatefold sleeve - limited to 400 copies.

Realllly nice stuff.
