We have a lovely new natural process coffee from Costa Rica available now! This coffee from the Alto el V***r micro-mill in the Santa de Dota region of Costa Rica, an area known internationally for its high quality coffee. Alto de V***r is very much family business, run by Mayra Sollis and her children. The name of the farm refers to the settling of fog at high altitudes. The family are focused on producing high quality coffee through sustainable farming methods that protect local flora and fauna, with 90 per cent of the farm a natural conservation area. The farm also grows citrus fruits, bananas, root and green vegetables in amongst the coffee plants, in order to avoid the damaging effects of monoculture.
This coffee has a gentle natural flavour with hints of cocoa, peach and dried fruit liqueur Thanks

New coffee release! Micro-lot from Marciela Chavez
Kicking off 2026 with a beautiful washed coffee from Mexico, so drinkable with notes of chocolate, caramel and some sweet clementine acidity 😋
Sourced through .coffee and this coffee is from Cafe El Zapoteco a collective of producer families from three towns in the Sierra Juarez. As well as being the birthplace of Benito Juarez - Mexico’s first president of indigenous origin- is a temperate mountain range north of Oaxaca City. El Zapoteco is run by Romulo Chavez who has been working for several years now to establish direct relationships with buyers in order to obtain higher prices for its members. Low production volumes and low yields are the biggest problems facing farmers here and our importer is working with roasters like us to return higher prices and earlier payment to them, money which will be used to help with training and support to increase productivity. Coffee from this area would usually be bought up by middle men and lose all traceability so it’s amazing to have such transparency on a coffee from the region 👏

Happy New Year and thank so much to everyone who supported us last year! The bar at the Roastery .u.m.b.u.m.b.u.n remains closed (Ciara needed to go home to top up her accent 😄) but we are working behind the scenes so please order online if you are getting low on coffee.
