Up bright and early this Sunday on a mission to restock the bookshelves in Lewes Station waiting room!

We loaded our trollies, grabbed our little helper Betty, and set out as the sun was rising.

The shelves were looking pretty bare since our previous drop off last Sunday, which is a sign that our books are making good companions on many train journeys.

It's almost been a year since we started the community library, and we would like to thank everyone who has swapped or returned books to help us keep the shelves stocked and enable us to sustain this community project.

We started the library so that stories could keep you company between stations, in the rare pocket of quiet rail journeys offer, and have donated hundreds of books since then. Borrow a book and swap or return once finished, and keep the love of reading on track!

It is brilliant to see how, in every era, books remain our favourite escape.
