Even the mighty oak has to start life somewhere🌱

Collected locally in Autumn 2025 and sown straight away into rodent proof boxes as oak acorns are one of a handful of tree seeds which cannot be stored.

These little trees will be well looked after and protected from the worst of the harsh coastal conditions to supply hardy and healthy whips by winter 2027/8.

Looking leafy and lush!

Guelder rose (Viburnum opulus) coming along nicely in its shady pallet boxes.

Although it may smell like wet dog when we are processing the red red fleshy fruits to extract the seed, its worth it for the end product!

We loved welcoming our newest funders Action Renewables to the tree nursery this week!

We gave Terry the grand tour and highlighted all the positive work their funding will help to secure now and into the future.

Rolling on the river 🎶

In partnership with sea2it and Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs we are spending 10 days over the course of summer and autumn surveying and collecting native tree seed stock along the lower Bann from Portglenone to Coleraine.

We plan to have seeds genetically tested to establish the provenance of the material, in keeping with our ethos of locally sourced and grown tree stock.

What a day to be on the water! 🌞 Many thanks to our river captain Adam!
