🍂 SACRED HEARTH & INK — ISSUE 09 IS HERE
THE TURNING

Right, it's October already and somehow I've managed to get another issue finished. 😂

Issue 09 is out, and this one is very much about The Turning.
Samhain, October folklore, rowan magick, gardens, ancestors, seasonal food, practical witchcraft, a bit of Halloween, some lovely contributions from Donna - what she did next, Jodi, Vicki and Lucinda, and plenty of the ordinary October stuff that I love.
I've also been thinking quite a lot about what we're ready to let go of.

Not in a reinvent your entire life before Christmas sort of way. You know me better than that. 😂

More in the what have I finished with, what do I actually want to carry forward, and what can I quite happily leave behind? sort of way.

Morning loves! Happy hump day!

Sorry I’m late to the Breakfast table this morning but P brought me my tea and put a documentary on for me! It was about Japans issue with marriage and birth rate. Very interesting actually.

Japan is a preview for what’s happening elsewhere in the world.

Anyway, yesterday the youngest asked if I had any black tie event dresses and I said no. I’ve been getting rid of a lot of stuff lately but upon having a check I found quite a few. Some with labels on, others worn once! All are going to be put on Vinted today!

Shoes too!

Gonna be a busy girl!

Hello!

Yawn!

All the tea needed here today. It was the dance of the changing of the seasons yesterday! Jumper on, jumper off, leg in bed, leg out….!

There’s also been so much farm work going on and the dust is making us sneeze. Also I’m contacting a lawyer to start charging the spiders rent!

H made chicken pie last night, we ♥️ pie! Love that it’s soup, stew and pie season again!

We are off to London on Friday to see the child, who is constantly complaining that we’ve not visited her in the smoke for 3 years!

We really are not London people but I guess she has a point!

Good morning from the mad house! Happy moaning Monday folks, how’s you?

Another brand new week begins and just 3 days of September left, the harvest moon has been and gone, so it’s onwards towards October like a steam train.

We had a lovely mooch around the antiques centre yesterday. I have this wish to have an unfitted, curated kitchen one day, so I just adore having a window shop. No money was spent, actually that’s a lie! I love the veg stalls at the car boot end, so I bought potatoes! It’s jacket spud season so it is!!

I can hear the news in the background and that the Triple Lock pension thing could be abolished? Social care indeed needs paying for and is broken but my state pension is what, 9 years away as it stands. I do wonder if there will be a state pension by then?

Life eh?

So challenging for everyone right now.

Today’s chores?

Got my self assessment to do! Joy!

Also going to give the house a good Hoover and cobweb again. Soooo many spiders!

Also gonna make a lovely chicken soup and bake another fruit loaf.

I think someone is coming to look at our old horse (gin bar on wheels) trailer today! I’ve asked P to get rid of some vehicles and we don’t really need it. He priced it to sell so let’s see eh? I’m going to call it here and now, that horse box will go but there will be a flatbed trailer in its place soon enough!

The issue is, if we were to move into our own home one day, we’d have to move so much and it would also require us buying land with barns or some such. That’s expensive, so I’m trying to get him to make his outside shed life doable! This is the UK and we can’t afford all the trimmings for his man toys. We’ve no plans at the moment but start early and hope for improvement eh!

Don’t get me wrong I’m doing the same with my clutter and stuff from many homes over the years! It has to be done.
