Galaxy cake!!

Oooh I love this!! So pleased with how it turned out!

I opted for a textured look rather than silky smooth finish to give dimension which I think adds to the overall look. It was remarkably simple too, just a bit of patience required. I love the colours peeping through and the glitter and stars 😍 🌟

I'm going to have a super happy birthday girl at her party tomorrow! 🥳

Commission: a very furry white cat in vanilla sponge with vanilla icing for a birthday

Done! I've never tried anything like this before so really pleased with the outcome! I wonder if he looks slightly dog-like but I hope mostly cat! My favourite bit? The little cheeky tongue!!

Sticky toffee pudding served with vanilla ice cream... possibly the best sticky toffee pudding I've ever eaten and the first time I've made it! Look at the shine on that sauce 😍

Goats cheese and beetroot tart

Roasted beetroot and red onion in a sweet balsamic reduction topped with goats cheese and encased in rosemary shortcrust pasty

Absolutely delicious served with dressed salad leaves and home made potato salad :D

Cupcakes for my biggest little girl's 10th birthday!

Oh my goodness. What an absolute nightmare I had with my Christmas cake this year!
My first cake didn't bake properly and was still raw in the middle 😱
Then the royal icing didn't set as it should have so all ran off down the sides and pooled at the bottom 🙄
Finally the hand-piped snowflakes which should have adorned the top and sides were so fragile they nearly all broke when trying to transfer from baking paper to cake 😫

I'm still unhappy with the final result hence only sharing a bit of it here. I just pray it tastes nice!!

Traditional 2 layer vanilla sponge with raspberry jam and fresh whipped cream filling.

I'm especially delighted with the handmade fondant flowers.. my first time making them and they turned out so well! 😃🤩

Oreo birthday cake for my littlest daughter 😋

Its two layers of chocolate cake sandwiched with oreo buttercream and crushed oreos. Finished with more buttercream, chocolate drips, rosettes and whole oreos.

I'm particularly pleased with the double drip effect!

Bakewell Tarts

Not the greatest picture, I must confess, of these little tarts made by my man but I'm documenting them because I'm proud of how awesome they turned out - melt in the mouth pastry, surprisingly good frangipane and pretty neat feathering on the icing.

His pastry is arguably better than mine - he may be taking over and renaming the brand yet!
