A joy (a spooky one….) to see Ruth’s fantastic seasonal quilt today! Thank you Ruth for bringing it in - you’ve made something which will be treasured for many years. We’re always proud to see our fabrics come back to visit us in such a way… and the long arm quilting was done locally by the talented Warm Hugs! ❤️✂️❤️✂️

Someone today said they enjoyed my unpacking a delivery reels! Which was all the encouragement I needed… The ‘white on white’ and ‘white on tone’ blenders have had a re-stock at last. Endlessly useful for quilting or crafting plus we’ve seen them made into flower girl dresses and let’s not forget the flower girl’s bunny who also got a new dress. 112cm wide, cotton, £10pm ❤️✂️❤️✂️

With the arrival of this classic collection, we’re pretty sure all our Christmas fabric has arrived now! We’ve got four shelves of it but it’s whizzing out quickly. All cottons ranging £8pm to £18pm with lots of panels to choose from and styles and themes to suit everyone. Pop in! And yes, we have had people moaning it’s on our shelves but it’s literally in the shop all year round because we sell it all year round because inspiration strikes at any time! ❤️✂️❤️✂️

A lady came into the shop today and we got chatting, about Norfolk initially, then it turned out she was a textile conservator and then she just blew me (Amy) away with her knowledge and career. Rosamund very generously looked at some Victorian patchwork I recently purchased and shared some knowledge about the fabrics used. Just before she left the shop, she mentioned that she’s on episode 3, series 3 of the BBC’s Hidden Treasures of the National Trust. I’d seen the episode - the Peacock Dress (that’s Rosamund on the screenshot in the blue dress). In that few minutes of chatting I learned so much, and was so grateful. The wonderful people we meet in the Fabric Quarter is a privilege and I’m always grateful to glimpse into the textile worlds others reside, particularly when I know they wouldn’t be easy to meet. (I’ve met a Laura Ashley designer from the 90s plus a member of the Liberty family plus others and many artists, embroiders, fabric designers… they pop in and we start chatting! I know Annette has had similar experiences.)

Thank you Rosamund, you were so generous with your time today and I hope I meet you again one day.
