Today is Lammas - one foot in summer, the other dipping a toe into autumn. It’s a festival of gratitude and abundance, of honouring what we are harvesting. There is always something that has grown no matter how tough the conditions, literally as well as metaphorically. It’s the first harvest so it’s also about patience and anticipation, there’s still more to come to fruition (dahlias and zinnias for me literally, metaphorically, other things that are slower to get going due to challenging conditions). And if things haven’t been harvested as you hoped then save that seed for the next turn of the wheel.

A riotous ramble. The hardest and most special flowers I’ve ever had to do. They were for my lovely dad who died a few weeks ago.
We said goodbye on Weds with a natural burial Hill Holt Wood who were simply amazing . They were so incredibly kind and professional and couldn’t have looked after us better.
To know my dad is in their woodland, becoming part of nature (and a magical rowan tree in particular) brings us all so much comfort. It has been a hard few weeks and not about to get much better for a while, but laying him to rest in such a beautiful place made what could have been an impossible day a lot easier.
Alongside such incredible love and kindness from family and friends, the peace and beauty of the location, and the professionalism and kindness of our fabulous celebrant, Helen Millington, it felt that we had truly honoured and celebrated my dads life and it’s left to us now to try and navigate the world without him.
I will need a bit of time to process it all I think, so forgive me if I disappear here for a while x

Today is the summer solstice, the point on the wheel where we have the longest day and shortest night.

It is the point of peak nature, where light and energy has been increasing since the winter solstice and now nature is at its most potent and abundant, reaching its fullest expression.
From here nature starts to shift into a ripening and richening .

It is an invitation to celebrate the light, the abundance of nature, to anchor in to the seasons and to acknowledge the wheel always turns and seasons of light and dark are held in balance.

Join me for a flowery day of creativity, energy healing and mindfulness.

We know that working creatively with flowers is a beautiful thing to do. Those of us who run floral workshops have seen time and time again the benefit of working with your hands, with gorgeous natural materials and how that facilitates calm, positivity and meaningful conversations.

But in addition flowers have their own energetic signature and which ones you choose can tell you a lot about where you might be stuck and offer insights into how to navigate current challenges.

My floral retreat workshop combines reiki healing using individual flowers and floral creativity where you create a beautiful floral urn incorporating the flowers you have chosen.

It is a powerful, mindful day helping you to connect to yourself and to nature .

The garden in a bowl.
My beautiful tulips are having their last hurrah so it was wonderful to celebrate them in my nature gathering session yesterday.
They can be temperamental madams but this year they graced the gardens like the divas they are. Curtains down for them now until next year (🤞🏻).
