Introducing Cornhill Connects! 💙

We're starting something new for our community. Cornhill Connects is a friendly, weekly meet-up for anyone aged 55 and over, kicking off on Wednesday 9 September.

It's a warm, welcoming space to drop in, meet new people and try something different each week. You can expect good company, activities, workshops and a fresh reason to pop down every time. ☕️

It's free to come along, we just ask that you book your spot in advance through the Facebook event in the comments, so we know to expect you.

A rather rude little excuse of a human came by yesterday and told me I was stupid to name the bears and that they should ALL be blank for people to name them because apparently every bear should be called the same name as the person they're going to, which is utterly ludicrous in itself but, could you imagine a FULL display of NAMELESS bears!!? How horrible an idea that is (just like the person who suggested it).

Mabel is my 835th bear I've made for adoption since I began sewing the original style bears in 2018 and, with the majority of those being named by me, I think it's safe to say that I know what I'm doing and the NAMED bears are most definitely staying!

The stall will be open as usual today, Saturday and Sunday for the normal opening times, however....

For tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, I'll be in early (as I desperately need to make stock), but once the heat gets too much, I'll be finishing early on those three days.
It's really disappointing because realistically I won't be able to make much stock at all this week so I'm even further behind, but heyho, it is what it is. Although I do obviously need to make stock, I don't want to make myself ill in the process.

As a minimum, I'll be about at the stall each morning to early afternoon on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Ladies and gentlemen, we FINALLY have some more Bears on my Bear display here at the stall!

Only five of the batch of ten are made so far, but Rainbow, Hope, Ella, Mila and Freya are very happy to be sat out on the stall at last.

Now, it's back to sewing for me.

It's truuuuuuue!
At last, there will be new bears on the Bear display again!

I'm hoping to have at least five new bears by Wednesday next week, and another five, maybe more, the following week.

Once the new bears have got their packaging made, I'll be popping them on the display so hopefully, it will start to look a bit more full.

Sorry it's been so slow for new stock, I'm still getting used to the new set up.

Right here are enough bears cut out to double my stock numbers .... IF my hands allow it.

I've purposely kept some artwork back, just in case I need to change what I do for a day or two, but I'm really hoping I'll have some new bears made soon.

There's a mix of small and medium size bears with one large size.

As you can tell, I'm in desperate need of some girl bears at the stall, oh, and I added a bold rainbow bear and a pastel rainbow bear to the batch too, just for some good luck! I've tried to pick plenty of colours out to make the bear display hopefully look its best yet since moving in to the Cornhill Market.

So, that's what I'll be doing for a week or two if you come by and see me.
