Managing the Heatwave with a Stoma ☀️

With the recent hot weather, here are some simple tips to help you stay comfortable while managing your stoma this summer.

✅ Store your pouches in a cool, dry place

✅ On hot days, keep well hydrated as dehydration can thicken stoma output and increase risk of blockages and discomfort

✅ Apply sunscreen after putting your stoma pouch on

✅ Make sure your peristomal skin is completely dry before applying your next pouch

✅ Wear light, breathable fabrics or loose-fitting clothing to minimize sweating and prevent skin irritation.
