I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love Fender guitars but their quality control stinks. I’ve had yet another Jazzmaster come in, this time from .clanc that’s beautiful but unplayable. After a slight truss rod adjustment and a quick setup this thing was perfect (j.clanc said this not me)

Short and sweet. EBay bass with a microphonic pickup and action higher than the interest rate on a wonga loan. Wax potted the pickup and swapped out some of the bits to sort out the noise and some tweaks to get it playing a lot better. Gunna end up with some flatwounds on but for now it still sounds lovely.

Absolutely stunning SG came in with some serious fret buzz. The owner had said that in the past, their guitar teacher had went to town on the truss rod without really knowing what they were doing and it made a small issue much worse.
Because of this, I wanted to make sure I took my time making the necessary adjustments over a few weeks so that the neck had time to settle in after each small turn.
Once the neck had just the right amount of bow, it was set up with 10’s, ready to rock and roll another day.

Quick one for /
Mary’s absolutely stunning G5021E was about as close to perfect as a guitar could be except for one tuning peg that had unfortunately snapped.
After initially considering replacing the tuning pegs, it was agreed with Mary that the best way forward would be to repair instead of replace.
The way that this was snapped meant that the mechanism had to be swapped out. This is a relatively quick job but one where you can very easily make things a whole lot worse so if you’re planning on doing it yourself then be careful!
The buttons that Mary wanted will take a while to arrive but in the meantime, these little fellas that are on there don’t look that bad! - Jake

After a much needed and long awaited break we are back.
Books are open for any work or pick up builds.
Due to an increased number of problems regarding invoices getting paid on time, all work will now be subject to a deposit which will vary depending on the work being undertaken.

Going back a bit with this one. Didn’t manage to get any decent footage working on it because the workshop wasn’t properly set up at the time. Absolutely stunning Vox Teardrop for had a full setup and rewire.

Closer look at one for .control
This one came in for a service and left with a makeover. Niall had assembled a Frankensteins monster guitar which was in need of a little work. Wax potted the pickup (unsure what this was) and added a cover. Niall had a good go at the soldering (see pic) but it had to go and the whole thing was re-wired. The neck was fine but not great so I worked on that a bit to smooth out some of the imperfections in the wood. It ended up being a lot nicer to play (forgot to take a pic of the neck). The bridge was blocked with a piece of wood cut to size and then it was setup good to go.
