📢 Knowsley Council’s plans for Huyton Village are progressing at pace with demolition works planned next month which will make way for development.
🏢 The plans, being delivered in partnership with GenR8GenR8 Kajima Regeneration Ltd, have the potential to deliver new homes, new office accommodation, a hotel and a new village green and green spaces as well as improved parking facilities and the relocation of Huyton Library and Knowsley Works into a central, high-street location.
✅ Work has already commenced on Cavendish Walk to transform an empty unit (the former B&M) into a modern, community space which will be home to Huyton Library on the ground floor with Knowsley Works and office space on the upper floor.
🏗️ In addition, work will start on the Council’s own campus with the demolition of two outdated buildings – the Computer Centre and Huyton Annexe. Hoardings will be installed around these sites next month with demolition works expected to commence in September and be completed in the autumn.
🚗 Plans also include the delivery of a sustainable travel hub next year on the site of the current multi-storey car park on Lathom Road which will deliver modern parking facilities, electric charging points and dedicated disabled bays.
