How do some people sleep at night?! I was asked to look at a gate that had dropped and needed to be lifted in order to open/close it. Original company, who installed it 12 months ago, were contacted but apparently didn't want to know!
The post that supported the gate was only in the ground a couple of inches (see photo). The rest of the "support" came from it being fixed to an existing concrete fence post.
There is a new imprinted concrete drive & path that the customer didn't want disturbed so my options were slightly limited. I discussed available options with the customer who decided to have the concrete post replaced with a steel one, at a proper depth, then brace the panel to that, along with the wall at the front.
Job done and the gate is swinging again!!
