It’s the last day of the RA Summer Exhibition 2026!
I’ve loved getting pictures from friends throughout the exhibition. Thanks to everyone who’s messaged when they’ve visited.
It’s been such an honour and an amazing experience. Thanks Royal Academy !!

Mystic matchboxes. These were a bit of a labour of love and took a couple of months to get right through many prototypes.

The designs are based on folk festival puppets. The strike strip is on the inside of the box and can be replaced once used up.

I have 3 left total, will have them at Pop-Up Palm House at on Friday and Saturday.

Will be making more for the Christmas period including a sun puppet (see previous post).

My four year old son has decided he’s going to write the caption. He says “everything is beautiful!” Thanks Freddie.

Will have these (and more!) available at St Luke’s Bombed Out Church on Sunday and Pop-Up Palm House next Friday and and Saturday (chuffed to be back at the Palm House!)

First full day back in the studio after a few weeks break for holidays and a telly job.

Two trips to the RA yesterday. My boys were so excited to see the Burry Man in the exhibition. Seeing lots of people taking photos and commenting on the work was quite surreal.

Happy Solstice! Yesterday we took the kids to the Chester Midsummer Watch Parade - a tradition that started in 1498! Some of the puppets are based on records from 1564. Now lots of the local schools help make puppets and are part of the parade. It was a brilliant day out. Last picture is of a sculpture I made inspired by a previous year’s puppet.

We attended the private view of Liverpool Art Fair last night. I’m stood next to 1/5 sculptures that are available.
Treated ourselves to a striking oil painting by Jane Maxfield entitled Fire at Night.
Here’s a selection of my favourites.

Thanks to Liverpool Art Fair and the panel for having me back for a second year.

Exhibition runs from 12th June - 26th July at Royal Liver Buildings.

What a surreal and wonderful day at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition Varnishing Day! Saw some amazing art, made friends and I’m just chuffed to have one of my sculptures exhibited. Ahhhhh can’t believe it!

Can’t believe it. I love the RA Summer Exhibition, it was a highlight of my year when we lived in London. Never in a million years did I think that I would be exhibiting things I’d created anywhere, let alone here.
Over the moon.
So excited for varnishing day next week and to be able to take my boys to the exhibition over the summer.

This is an exciting one, I’ve had 5 sculptures selected for Liverpool Art Fair! At the Liver Building 12th June - 26th July.
Can’t wait to see everyone’s work at the opening in a couple of weeks.
