an excellent sold out screening for David Lynch’s WILD AT HEART on VHS was the only way we wanted to return to our beloved artefact after being away for a month! you filled the room, brought cats and upstaged our incredible temporary tattoos, courtesy of Jonathan Hunter and Riley!

our next screening at artefact (SAW on Sept 30th) has unfortunately sold out, but our next screening at The Swan Inn Liverpool is WISHMASTER on September 22nd has seats available, so head to our Eventbrite page and check out everything we have coming up!

SCALARAMA LIVERPOOL IS HERE and on Wednesday 30th September, we are kicking off a month celebrating the DIY cinema scene in the city with a VHS screening of SAW (2004) at our second home artefact! there will be goodie bags upon entry, a couple of Halloween games before the film and some lovely words from co-lead of the festival Para•phi•sis Cinema before going into one of the last horrors to make it to video! grab yer tickets on the Scalarama Liverpool site, link on our page!

Transgressive, political, comedic, liminal, the popular and the rarely screened; come be a part of this spectacular celebration of DIY cinema!

i had a boss day out on the Wirral, reliving some childhood memories on the peninsula and checking out some spots that will become very useful to us, all culminating in a visit to to deliver some VHS goodness that Dave didn’t have in stock, and rent some films for myself!

i absolutely love what Dave has done with the place and all the new addictions including the new (to me!) horror section, which i perused with a lot of trepidation trying to remember what was on my watchlist, but i ended up with I Saw The TV Glow, Oddity and Frankenstein’s Army!

Snips is simply one of the best places a film fan in Merseyside could ask for, and Dave is a pure champion of physical media, often found on commentaries in the special features of some of his vast catalog and he’s an incredibly knowledgeable dude who i love talking to about film. it’s more important than ever before to support a business like this, because being able to rent three films AND have all of the special features you could desire for just £5 is a deal you won’t find anywhere else!

our wishes came true! we are happy to announce that we will be hosting a monthly horror VHS night at The Swan Inn Liverpool, kicking off with WISHMASTER (1997) on Tuesday 22nd September! starring Andrew Divoff as the titular demon and featuring some of horror’s greatest faces, alongside incredible practical effects, it’s known as one of the best hidden gems of the 90s!
