LUMA Creations, ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒŽ Nelson Gรณmez Jr. ๐ŸŽค๐Ÿคฉ and Wonder in the Street ๐ŸŽช๐Ÿ‘Œ were there too, bringing talented artists from around the world. ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒ We enjoyed music, art, and culture representing countries including El Salvador ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ป, Chile ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฑ, Bolivia ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ด, India, ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Mexico ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ England ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ, and many more.

Food has a special way of bringing people together, and we're so grateful we had the opportunity to celebrate and share ours while supporting the amazing work that Cafรฉ Laziz does for immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers in our beautiful community.

Today we had the privilege of sharing so much more than food. ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Š

We started by telling our story as Latin American immigrants in the UK. We spoke about why we left our country, our journey, the challenges we faced, and everything it took to build a new life here. We also introduced our beautiful culture, and the traditions we carry with us wherever we go. ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ”ฅ

Then we held a live cooking demonstration, teaching everyone how to make traditional Salvadoran pupusas ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ป.

It was an unforgettable afternoon with around 40 wonderful British women. ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ’“ There were tears, laughter, heartfelt conversations, and of course, delicious food. โค๏ธ

We feel incredibly proud to have been part of this event.

A huge thank you to Cafe Laziz for inviting us, believing in us, and giving us the opportunity to help more people in England understand that behind every immigrant, there is a story. A story of courage, hope, resilience, and new beginnings. ๐Ÿ’“

Some stories can never fit inside a suitcase.

We were deeply honoured to be invited by Abdullrhman Hassona | ุญูŽุณููˆู†ูŽุฉ to take part in the Liverpool Arab Arts Festival, a Photography and video Exhibition at the University of Liverpool Liverpool John Moores University School of Arts, where we had the opportunity to share our journey as Latin American immigrants in the UK.

Stories, Real people, Refugees and immigrants who were forced to leave behind their HOMES, families, careers, and everything they once knew, hoping for the chance to rebuild their lives in safety.

Behind every face is a story of loss, resilience, courage, and hope. These photographs are not asking for sympathy. They are asking to be seen, to be heard, and to remind us that every person carries a story.

As Latin Americans, we are proud that our voices are part of this exhibition alongside artists from different cultures. Our journeys may be different, but our hope is the same: to find a place where we can begin again: A HOME.

Thank you to everyone who made this exhibition possible and to those who believe that art can build bridges, spark conversations, and give a voice to stories that deserve to be told.

๐ŸŒŽโœจ From ancient traditions in Central and South America to the Summer Solstice celebrations at Stonehenge, it was wonderful to meet amazing people from Colombia ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด, Mexico ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ, and Bolivia ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ด. Across our countries, many cultures have long marked the changing seasons with festivals, gratitude for the harvest, music, dance, and community gatherings. ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ’›
No matter where we come from, our roots, flavors, and traditions connect us.
