The 3rd Celestial Cup was held in Hokkaido Japan this weekend. Tricky conditions by all reports but really top class casting.

Came in 3rd behind a couple of world class casters. Happy with that.
Plenty of pink competition lines as well as our newest and best trout lines were on show.
Sunburn and chapped lips aside a great weekend.

Out practicing yesterday with a new rod and the Fireball Evolution 80 and this big fella rumbled over. Always brings back RAF memories!!
Line cut to 67g and 71.5’. Felt perfect on the new rod.

After reviewing some video of the standard salmon distance 65’ head line we noticed how the front taper slows in heavy or very still air. Wanted a version that has a bit more energy left in the last 20 feet or so and this new 66’ version is it.

Hopefully in time for Italy!!
