Creating shade where the building itself can’t provide the answer.

This recent installation in Godalming is a fantastic example of how external shading can still be achieved when a conventional wall-mounted solution isn’t possible.
For this project, the ideal answer was a Markilux Planet system complete with a Markilux 6000 awning and Shadeplus, creating a highly flexible freestanding shading solution for the patio area.
One of the standout benefits of the Markilux Planet is its ability to rotate through 335 degrees, allowing the customer to position shade exactly where it is needed throughout the day.
This installation was specified at 5m wide with a 3.5m projection and finished in Havana Brown 5229 for the frame, paired with 427 12 Sunbow block stripe fabric and 339 50 Shadeplus. Operation was kept simple with a Somfy IO remote control.
Projects like this also highlight the importance of planning well before installation. With a system of this type, groundworks, power supply and exact positioning are all key to achieving the right result.

Give an existing awning a new lease of life.

Replacing an awning isn’t always necessary.
This traditional shop awning at Chapman & Son in Tadworth, Surrey was still structurally serviceable, so rather than replacing the complete system, we simply recovered the existing awning with new fabric.
Recovering can be a very cost-effective way to extend the working life of an awning while also refreshing the appearance of the building frontage.
For commercial premises in particular, it can offer several benefits:
Lower cost than full replacement
Minimal disruption
Improved appearance
Opportunity to update colours or branding
Extended service life of the existing awning
The finished result gives this traditional frontage a smart, refreshed appearance while retaining the character of the original awning.
If you have an older awning that is looking tired but is otherwise in good condition, recovering may be a far more economical option than replacing it completely.

Another stunning installation completed in Henley-on-Thames ☀️
This recent project features a beautiful Markilux MX4 awning installed to create generous shade and a sleek, contemporary finish to this outdoor space.
Measuring an impressive 7m wide x 3.5m projection, this system offers excellent coverage for the patio area, helping to make outdoor dining and relaxing far more comfortable.
To make the space just as enjoyable into the evening, the awning was also fitted with integrated LED RGB-WW lighting, adding both ambience and flexibility at the touch of a button.
A superb combination of style, shade and lighting, and a great addition to this property in Henley-on-Thames.

A bold splash of colour for this riverside home in East Molesey ☀️
This recent installation combined style, shade and some clever problem-solving.

Because the property is finished with fibre cement cladding, fixing directly to the building wasn’t straight forward. Our solution was to install a Markilux Syncra Uno Fix frame system, supporting a Markilux 5010 awning measuring 4000mm wide x 3000mm projection.

The customer chose the striking 416 20 yellow and white block stripe fabric, giving the property a fantastic traditional summer look, with simple operation via a Somfy IO remote control.

To complete the installation, we also fitted a Markilux 730 window awning above, using specially fabricated brackets designed to avoid fixing directly into the cement cladding.

The result is a practical and eye-catching shading solution that works perfectly with the property.

**Making a statement with external shading in Mill Hill.**

This impressive **markilux 5010** was recently installed to provide extensive shading across a large patio area.

At almost **6 metres wide with a 3.5 metre projection**, the awning creates a substantial area of shade, making the terrace a far more comfortable and usable space during sunny weather.

The traditional **yellow and white block stripe fabric** was a bold choice by the customer, and one that works exceptionally well. Against the white exterior of the property, the vibrant fabric creates a striking feature while retaining the classic appearance associated with a traditional patio awning.

Operation is effortless via a **handheld remote control**, while the addition of a **Somfy Vibrobox wind sensor** provides extra protection by detecting excessive movement and automatically retracting the awning when required.

A great example of how the right awning can provide both highly effective solar shading and become a genuine feature of the property.

A considered shading solution for a beautiful setting in West Chiltington.**

This recently completed **markilux pergola style** installation has transformed the patio into a generous shaded area while maintaining the wonderful outlook across the garden.

At **5 metres wide**, the system was carefully specified to sit in proportion with the terrace and property. **Special mounting brackets** were used to achieve the necessary installation height, with the system finished in the new **markilux 9007 frame colour** and complemented by **454 61 fabric from the new Fineline collection**.

An important consideration was preserving the newly completed terrace. Rather than excavating the paving to secure the front posts, we specified **markilux stabilisation boxes**, providing the required support while avoiding unnecessary disruption to the finished patio.

The result is a substantial yet elegant shading solution that feels completely at home within its surroundings.

A simple and effective shading solution, recently installed in **Chipstead, Surrey**.

This **markilux 990 awning** was specified to provide practical solar shading over a raised decking area, creating a more comfortable and usable outdoor space during the warmer months.
