EFRA European Championships 2026
Luxembourg
Last week was the European Championships held in Luxembourg.
Attending from Ti22 we had Mark and Frankie racing in the Frontie Class. Billy in the 13.5 Stock class and Liam in the Modified class. This was Marks 2nd Euros and the first time for all the rest of the team, what better place to lose your Euros cherry than at Luxembourg.
Wednesday:
This was a travelling day so we started out at 5am on the 8 hour road and ferry trip to Luxembourg. Remember to set your alarm next time Liam, you came close to a brick through your bedroom window lol. Frankies 1st time on a ferry to Calais was an experience, so windy on deck. A trip to the duty-free to stock up on smellys and a lego airplane for Frankie.
We arrived in Audun-le-Tiche at 4pm local time, which was a 20 minute drive to the track, if you didn't take a wrong turn 🤦 we dropped our bags at our apartment and walked across the carpark to McDs for dinner. Always an experience a Mcds abroad, always better food and cheaper. Then an early night in preparation for the days ahead.
Thursday:
Tech day, we arrived early at the track to get a feel for the place which is huge. On site facilities were just brilliant. The tyre compound doubled up as half the cafe area, the cafe itself was great, lots of different food options all days, drinks and ice cream all on tap at reasonable prices.
We had a decent pit space at the rostrum end, which did need covering with a tarpaulin for the weekend as we were being well done in the sun. This was right next to Tech so perfect.
The order for the day was to get chassis, lipos, motors and bodyshells checked and numbered up. Then it was time to collect tyres and prep them for the event. Lots of bead cutting, sanding and weighing, this took a while with 6 sets of tyres for Frontie and 8 for TC. Once all of this was out of the way it was back to the apartment and out again for dinner at an all you can eat buffet, which was very nice indeed.
Friday:
2 x Free practice, 2 x Seeding practice and 1 qualifying round. With high expectations from us I think we were all a little overwhelmed with how much concentration is required at this track, it's just a monster of a track, in size and elevations, but such a joy to drive. With the grip levels still relatively low we all felt comfortable on track, and had some excellent results.
Mark with an 11th and Frankie 23rd.

Liam 17th all quietly confident for the next days qualifying.
It was then back to the apartment and out to the local pizzeria for some 50" pizzas 😲 and a few of the local beverages to end another day.
Saturday:
Practice and 4 qualifying rounds for the penultimate day at this huge fantastic facility. The grip had started to ramp up but the cars were still very drivable with a few tweaks here and there.
Racing was followed by the opening ceremony and a parade of all the country's drivers in alapbetical order. The UK Team all looked very smart in the blue t-shirts provided to us by the BRCA. Little Frankie led us out for the photo shoot proudly holding the Union Jack flag for Great Britain. We assembled on the infamous corkscrew section for photos, this really showed you how high this section is.
We decided to have a quite night in and got some supplies from the Aldi conveniently next door and early to bed for the long day ahead.
Sunday:
With qualifying over it was time for finals day. One more 3 minute practice session for everyone to clean the track and get some more valuable track time in before the 3 leg finals began.

Billy D Final 3rd
Liam C Final 8th
Frankie came away with the youngest junior award which he was very happy with, a great momento of a fabulous weeks racing and also 7th in the Frontie C Final.
Mark moved up 1 spot to take 8th in the Frontie B Final.
Billy took a dominant win in the Stock D Final comfortably winning 2 of the 3 legs. Proving there was way more in the tank than qualifying showed where he had 3 x 22nd places.
Liam did an amazing job in the Modified C Final taking 5th place overall against some of Euros best mod racers.
The trophy presentation took a while to get going as per usual at any event. We were on a tight schedule to get to Calais to catch the last train, but with Billy still in race mode he carved his way along the motorways to get there in record time. We checked in and stopped for a well earned BK and even had time for some duty free shopping.
We arrived on time back in the UK and were all dropped off by 12.30am, what a mission.
Overall an experience you just can't explain to those who only race in the UK. If you ever get a chance, don't hesitate, just do it, at least once, you won't be disappointed regardless of the results on track the journey is worth the rewards.
