Throwing it back to an epic ride and adventure on an incredible bike with a great friend

I hope we can get some of these challenges in again next year.

Striding into a new week or something like that. Good bit of routine last week and the same panned for the upcoming week. Layering the days and weeks, building good habits and not being in too much of a hurry is what it’s all about.

How’s your week looking?

A tough endurance challenge for and the growing community from with 114 sign ups. It was designed to be a challenge with a 3hr cut off but also provide some simple base endurance on an interesting course where very few of us have ridden before.

The ride was inspired by Les 3 Vallées ski resorts with the aim to take in each of these, Val Thorens, Meribel, Courchevel 1300, 1550, 1650 and finally 1850 before finishing on the newly created Col de la Loze which climbs out of Courchevel 1850 back over to Meribel.

I fancied the challenge and aimed to get in ahead of cut off. It’s fair to say there was some serious climbing 2200m but also descending which on RGT you actually have to concentrate for. There are no hairpins at 70kph here!!

Whilst it was tough I was really impressed with the effort of all the riders and the camaraderie on display. Chapeau!!

Getting ready to race this evening on a course I built in Sussex on Magic Roads 2.0. Looks like we’ll have about 100 of us out there which is awesome.

Beginning to get some of those race feelings coming through. Happily we do it every Thursday evening so after a year of no IRL racing we can still get our fix on a different course every week!

What did you do this year to substitute your need to compete?

Last night spent doing a recce for next week’s handicap race. It’s going to be a special one! Before that though we have this week’s Thursday race. This week we’re racing between Steyning and Petworth in Sussex: False Flat Frankie.

The race is handicapped to 3.2w/kg. What does that mean? You take your FTP/3.2 and put the result as your weight on your profile. It’s not perfect but it condenses the field and means everyone gets to employ some race tactics! I reckon tomorrow will be a cagey start followed by several stings at the tail end.

Come and join us, last week we had 85 sign ups. It’s FREE to enter and use the platform. THURSDAY 1900hrs UK time. See you there. 😎Link in bio. It’s the ‘wobbly’ one!

Next year really isn’t that far away and with some hope created by the vaccine development the fire 🔥 is returning. What have you been up to this week?

A special day today with three generations of Ushers and one to be 😍 riding on a closed circuit.

The weather gave us a break and true to form the kids maximised it and raced around the circuit lap after lap.

The smile on their faces and declarations it was a great day make the effort of preparing for the worst of the weather more than worth it!

We have something super exciting building at the moment which will lead to endless adventures. Hoping to be able to share it with everyone too.
