❤️ Sometimes an order is not just an order. Sometimes, it becomes another chapter in a sweet story we get to write together.

We had exactly one week.

One week to look at the photo our lovely customer had sent us, understand what she loved about it, and create a two-tier cake that would be just as beautiful… if not even more special. ✨

But this story began long before this cake.

We have known this customer for so many years now that we no longer see her orders as simply orders.

She has trusted us with her celebrations — her children’s birthdays, personal occasions, special events… and every time we see a WhatsApp message from her, we can’t help but smile. 🤍

Because we know it won’t simply be:

“I’d like to order a cake.”

It will be a conversation.
Ideas.
Trust.
“Do you think this would work?”
Attention to the little details.
And that beautiful feeling that we are creating something together — something that will become part of someone’s special day.

⚽️💚 One birthday. Two cakes. And a whole lot of sweet memories.

After sharing Alek’s colourful car-themed birthday cake with you, it’s time to show you cake number two. 🎂

This one had a completely different story.

A little football lover’s dream —
green grass, footballs, his name and, of course, a little touch of birthday magic. ⚽️💚

But what was waiting inside was just as special as what you could see on the outside.

Vanilla sponge.
Delicate banana cream.
Soft. Light. Smooth.

A beautifully gentle combination where the vanilla and banana came together in the sweetest little harmony. 🤍

And this cake had a very special purpose.

It was made to be shared with Alek’s little friends from nursery — because what is a second birthday without a room full of little voices, happy faces and tiny hands reaching for another slice of cake? 🥹

I hope that, amongst all the games, laughter and birthday excitement, we managed to add one more thing to Alek’s special day:

a sweet little memory to take with him. 💚

Because this is what I love most about what we do.

Not just creating beautiful cakes.

But becoming a tiny part of someone’s story.

Last year, Ellie reached out to us for Alek’s first birthday.

There was one thing we knew for sure — Alek absolutely adored their family dog. 🐶
And so, we created a beautiful, special cake inspired by the little friend who had such a big place in his heart.

A year has passed.

And here we are again.
The same family.
The same trust.
But this time… Alek is TWO. 🥹💙

And this year, the story is a little different.

Because there isn’t just one cake.
There are TWO. 🎂🎂

The first one I’m sharing with you today was created to bring everyone together around Alek’s birthday table — colourful, joyful and filled with that magical little world of cars, roads, clouds, adventures and endless imagination. 🏎️☁️

And as I look at this cake, I can’t help but think…

How quickly time passes.

It feels like only yesterday that we were celebrating his very first birthday.

And today, there are already two candles.

That is exactly why I love what we do.

Because behind every order, there is a person.
Behind every person, there is a family.
And behind every family, there are little moments that one day become the biggest memories.

This beautiful cake was lovingly created by Sweet House Ana, while through Slice of Cake London, I have the privilege of being the connection between talented bakers and you — the families looking for more than just a dessert, but something that becomes part of your celebration. 🤍

Hi, I’m Fani. And maybe it’s time you got to know the woman behind the cakes. 🤍

For a long time, I shared the cakes.
The celebrations.
The pretty moments.

But behind every cake, there is a story.

And behind Slice of Cake London, there is mine.

I’m originally from Bulgaria, but London has been home for many years.

I came here with dreams, uncertainty, a different language and a completely different life ahead of me.

I didn’t have everything figured out.

Honestly, I still don’t.

But I always had this feeling that I was meant to build something of my own.

Something that would mean more than simply selling a product.

Then, five years ago, life changed everything.

We had to close the doors of our café.

And when you’ve poured your time, energy, love and dreams into something, closing the door feels like losing a piece of yourself.

For a while, I didn’t know what came next.

But somewhere inside me was a little voice saying:

“You’re not finished yet.”

So I started again.

I took the experience, the passion, the relationships and the love for what I do — and moved the dream online.

That is how Slice of Cake London continued to grow.

Today, I work with talented, registered home-based bakers who share my love for quality, beautiful flavours and the traditions we grew up with.

And together, we bring homemade Eastern European-style cakes and sweet treats to celebrations across London.

But the older I get, the more I realise that my business was never really just about cake.

It’s about people.

It’s about birthdays where someone finally feels celebrated.

About a mum ordering a cake for her child.

About bringing a taste of home to someone who lives thousands of miles away from where they grew up.

About supporting another woman who is building something of her own.

About creating something beautiful from an idea that once existed only in your head.

That is my vision.

To build something warm, meaningful and bigger than me.

A brand with heart.

A business that supports people.

A place where tradition meets creativity.

And a community where celebrations — big or small — matter.

I’m still learning.

Still making mistakes.

Still figuring things out.

Still having days when I wonder if I’m doing enough.

But I’m also proud.

Proud that I didn’t give up.

Proud of how far we’ve come.

And proud that I’m still dreaming.

Because five years ago, I had to start again.

Today, I know that starting again wasn’t the end of my story.
