One of my favourite ways to bring a suzani into a room — no framing required.

This one lives in my daughter’s bedroom, hung simply on two wall hooks. To get it looking this good, I sew a sleeve along the top and bottom edge and run a flat wooden pole through each — the weight of the pole at the bottom is what pulls out the wrinkles and lets the textile hang beautifully flat, almost like a tapestry.

It’s such an easy, affordable alternative to framing, and it means you can switch pieces in and out whenever you fancy a change with no damage.
