I set myself a little this time last year, that I’d focus on the life event cards that I’d most definitely not paid much attention to! Congrats, good luck, get well, new house - all events that need celebrating 🎉 I just got a bit addicted to creating more birthday and love cards 🤣

I remember receiving good luck cards from my family just before all my exams at school, and I had them lined up near my desk at home to give me a lil morale boost, cards from a loved one really do make a difference! So here’s a silly egg themed good luck card, guaranteed to bring a smile to someone’s face 🍳

Just a little reminder, I’m currently only selling to trade only so you can no longer buy directly from my website, but there’s a list of my wonderful stockists! This might change soon, just trying to work out a few bits now that my stock is all with a fulfilment centre packing my orders for me!

I realised recently I had NO BEER THEMED DESIGNS, so obviously I had to change that ASAP! I’ve also finally started being sensible by creating multiple variations of my new designs, so this beer design is available for trade orders for birthday, retirement and general love 🧡🍺

I love drawing cake, and it seems I particularly love rude cakes because that’s my kind of humour 💃, I like to counteract the rudeness by making the cake look extra tasty. Swear word on a cake? Must be extra decadent in the icing to making up for the ⭐rude word⭐

I had the idea of a lettuce leaf good luck/well done cards on my VERY LONG list of potential puns, but I kept thinking nah a lettuce leaf on a card would be boring, but turns out nono, lettuce can be jazzy too! I’ve been focusing my designs this year on all the events I’ve neglected (I tend to focus on birthday and love cards the most) and I’m glad to say this pair of cards has been selling unbeleafably well! 🥬

A little reminder that currently I am now only selling direct to trade, I’ve popped my customer orders on pause whilst I transitioned my orders over to a fulfilment centre, and have yet to decide if I should open my website and Etsy again 💚

Matcha - everyone seems to be obsessed and I keep trying it wanting to like it, but alas it is not for me. However I do enjoy drawing it! It’s my second matcha themed design as my ‘Love you so matcha’ design has been a hit, I thought it was only right to add a second event for the matcha fans!

Last year I had to put myself on a small ban of designing any more birthday cards for a while, and I focused on all the events I’d definitely neglected like moving house, retirement etc which I’m glad I did as I have SO many birthday designs, but they’re one of my favourite to design! Every person has a birthday and every person is so different in their personality, so in my head that must mean you need a lotta lotta birthday cards to choose from right? I love that card buying has gone back to being so personal, selecting a card for a specific person in mind, and that’s the type of buyer I design for! I also, as you can probably guess from my designs, create a lot of my cards with buying for men in mind - it’s the hardest buying category and it’s something I’ve focused my business on for a few years now!

I love you roe much 🍣

It seems to be any sushi related pun is always a guaranteed success, safe to say we’re a fan of sushi! When there’s a food group I’d like to draw more of, I always spend ages coming up with all the possible puns I can think of, and then usually will sit on the idea for a while before actually drawing it (usually too busy doing admin!) This pun popped in my head whilst I drawing another new design, so I drew it straight away and knew exactly what I wanted it to look like, which is rare for me 🤓.

I’m slightly obsessed with this pale peach background colour, it’s featured in a lot of my latest designs, and I think it’s here to stay! Background colours is something I’m always so indecisive on, but we always get there in the end 🤓

Fun fact, there’s two times that always seem to make me feel chuffed about my small biz and how far I’ve come, trade shows (after months of planning, stress and sleepless nights)…and when I get a new batch of photos from the wonderful Holly Booth Studio | Photography & Video 🥹📸

I collect silly food themed props whenever I see them, usually buying them with absolutely no plan other than they’re cute (like a 3D printed egg that’s actually a picture holder), I pop them in a box to Holly with very little direction or notes (usually one page of random scribbles and a few post it notes attached to specific props)…and boom, suddenly I have wonderful photos celebrating my food themed doodles!

It’s no surprise if you’ve followed me for a while, that I stumbled into small biz life by accident when I just started doodling food. It can be really tricky running a business solo, especially when you find the admin side of things real tricky (thanks to dyscalculia), but things like professional photos of your products really do make you feel proud 🥹🧡

Soppy alert over, turns out last year I really enjoyed drawing eggs 🥚

Can’t stop won’t stop drawing cake 🍰

I’ve finally started doing variations on the same design to cater for different events, sounds like an obvious one, but for some reason I kept thinking it was being lazy. Why yes imposter syndrome strikes with the strangest of things!

You probably spotted on my stories, but I’ve currently put a pause on customer stockists whilst my stock is being transferred to fulfilment to make things easier. I’m currently unsure when my Etsy and website will reopen as have a few things going on, but for now you can shop my cards with my wonderful stockists scattered across the country! Did you know there was a time where I vowed not to do punny cards as I didn’t think I’d have the brain to come up with them. OH HOW WRONG I WAS. All my brain does now is think of silly food themed puns and what I should draw next

Safe to say that puns are my bread and butter (no pun intended that I’ve chosen a photo of my bread and butter themed designs 😇)
