Somehow we have made it to the waning month of autumn. Here are a few of the seasonal best sellers so far.

But it’s that time of year where things are restocking weekly, if not daily. I’m surrounded by deliveries and, of course, endlessly behind in telling you what’s here. This week we’ll have restocks from Lily Pearmain and Scree Ceramics. If you’re on the waiting list you’ll get an email the moment we have the wares, and if you’re on the mailing list you’ll get first dibs on everything the second it goes online.

Spark Joy is here, our candle and match collection for the darker months.

Now the clocks have gone back and the evenings are drawing in, this is our small, warm antidote to the cold setting in. Hand-dipped beeswax tapers made in Cumbria, for that honeyed glow down the middle of the dinner table. Scented candles from Evermore London, Homework and St Eval, for when you want a scent to fill the whole room. And beautiful matches from The Archivist Gallery to light them all with.

Everything here is made properly, and worth burning. Light one, pour a drink, and let the evening slow right down.

The last Liz Vidal of the year.

Liz Vidal’s final drop of 2026 has landed, and it’s a small one. Mugs and beakers, and that’s the lot until 2027.

There’s a new shape in the mix too. The Straight Mug is taller than her usual, with a clean straight side, so it stacks beautifully and holds a proper amount of tea. It comes in two new autumnal colourways, Rust and Dusky Pink, and Mushroom and Blue. The rust glistens, and the mushroom is so calming, just the thing to ride out a storm.

An old school Throwback Thursday to the Hope Collection private view. What a night that was.

Two favourites from the show are still with us. KJA Studio’s Ginkgo Bottles, carved with ginkgo leaves, a tree that survived 200 million years and even Hiroshima, chosen as a symbol of hope and resilience. And Emma Johnson’s Marbled Vases, slip-cast porcelain, no two ever the same, where the hope is in the making itself and the small signs of nature.

Grab a cuppa, this is a long one, but it’s important.

Join me on my walk to work on a soggy October morning, watching Hampstead wake up, while I tell you about something quite scary that happened to us this week.

Someone has set up a live mirror of our website. Not just a copy, a live feed of the real thing, so it looks exactly like shopfodder.COM, right down to the last product and photo, updating in real time. You could look at it and never know. The only difference is where your money and your details go, and it isn’t to us.

Because the page itself looks identical, the one thing to trust is the web address. Our only website is shopfodder.COM. If the address in the bar is anything else, even a tiny bit different, close the tab, however convincing the page looks.

A couple more things to keep you safe, especially heading into Christmas:

The last of Sophie Alda this year.

Sophie has been with us since we opened seven years ago, and she has never stopped being one of our best-selling potters. This is her final restock of the year, so what’s on the shelves now is what there is until 2027.

The Rocket Vase is the one I’d never be without, a staple since the very beginning. Big blooms or simple stems, it always tells a story. The Dot Cups are the ones that end up everywhere, the best water cup on a festive table, a pen pot that lifts a grey desk, the only toothbrush holder worth looking at.

A couple of pieces are already nearly gone, two hollyhock vases left and one Crosshatch Flower Jug, which has been the surprise of the year.

Sophie works in clay, paper, paint and print from her studio in Bristol, and you can see all of it in the ceramics. The colour is never careful, the shapes hold space in their own right.
