I’ve been led by my nose all my life. Having aimed it at plates of food, linen, fruit, books, necks, fabric, flesh, flowers, cars and everything else in between, to finally have a perfume of my own, is the realisation of a boyhood dream. Our sense of smell is the shortest synaptic leap in the brain to our memory, and every one of these ingredients is like a sensory trigger. I’ve aspired to create fragrances that are as lickably-more-ish, as they are addictive.

Wonderful December sunshine in Richmond today to lift the spirit.

I’ve lived in Richmond for more than 30 years and being so close to the Thames, Petersham Meadow, and Richmond Park, feels like the perfect juxtaposition of urban London and a rural idyll as it’s possible to conjure. 9 miles from Piccadilly Circus. Married here, our daughter Olivia, who is my business partner, was born here. I’ve worked very closely with my brilliant collaborator and professional ‘Nose’, Alienor Massenet, to create JACK-RICHMOND. Everything worth anything is personal. Which is why everything I love is combined in this scent.
