On International Women’s Day, I find myself reflecting with great gratitude on the remarkable women who surround and inspire this little business (including Dotty and Gerty)
Honeysuckle & Rose was created from a love of thoughtful things, beautiful stationery, handwritten notes, and small gestures that mean so much. But behind every order, every kind message, and every moment of encouragement has been a community of extraordinary women.
Women who champion small businesses.
Women who create, nurture, support and uplift.
Women who understand the quiet power of kindness.
I feel deeply grateful to the talented female artists we work alongside, and to the wonderful women who choose to support Honeysuckle & Rose.
There are too many for me to name, but know that if you are reading this and you know me, I’m grateful for every kind word, every supportive sentiment, every packed and folded card, every label and belly band wrapped and stuck with labels. Every bit of feedback and every kind offer to pick me up when things are too tough or when imposter syndrome hits.
Today is a celebration of you all.
With gratitude and love

When you wake to the sound of your friend and neighbour doing a rather fabulous fly-by, en route to an equally fabulous project, it’s hard not to smile.
Living at Sirikoi Lodge shaped me in ways I didn’t fully understand at the time. I have always loved animals, but being immersed in that wild, extraordinary landscape, and spending time with and Willie Roberts, deepened that love into something far more profound: a true commitment to conservation.
Willie once tried to persuade me to stay when I was leaving, many years ago. I felt my knowledge wasn’t strong enough then, but my passion had never been greater. That seed stayed with me.
Because the truth is simple and stark: once these animals are extinct, there is no reversing it. No second chance.
Every action we take carries a consequence, good or bad. Yet it’s often easier to lean into the version of the story that soothes us, the one that allows us to feel comfortable in our choices. But the old saying is right: the truth can hurt.
And sometimes it should.
Because only when we face it honestly can we choose to do better.

Partnering with Tusk as one of our chosen charities allows us to raise meaningful funds while creating something truly beautiful. Every piece we design is a luxury product with purpose, a gift that gives more than once. When you choose Honeysuckle and Rose, you’re not simply making a purchase; you’re making a feel-good investment.
We are proud to support small industries across the UK, creating everything sustainably and working closely with independent, family-run businesses who share our values of quality and care. From our African Collection, we donate 10% of profits directly to Tusk, helping to protect wildlife and support conservation across the continent.
Luxury with heart. British craftsmanship. Giving back, beautifully.

Small Business Monday
Running a small business isn’t just about the beautiful homewares, carefully designed stationery, or thoughtfully curated gifts, although those are the parts you see.
It’s also about routine, being consistent.
For me, Mondays are about strengthening the foundations: updating the accounts (I’d be lost without ), answering emails properly, speaking with suppliers, reviewing stock levels, planning launches and deliveries, and looking ahead at the week, month, year.
It isn’t glamorous, and I struggle with it sometimes, actually mist of the time, especially when imposter syndrome creeps in or my workload feels overwhelming. But keeping a routine, showing up consistently, and ticking off the small admin tasks helps keep that feeling at bay… at least occasionally.
Discipline and consistency create freedom. When the admin is in order and the numbers are clear, I can design, source and create with confidence. A beautiful business still needs structure behind it, and that quiet, steady work is what allows everything else to flourish.
Small businesses aren’t built on inspiration alone. They’re built on showing up, even on a Monday.
What helps you keep your routine when the workload feels heavy?

Our beautiful mats were created in collaboration with the incredibly talented , whom we commissioned to paint these stunning eight animals. We already had two of her designs, elephants and rhinos, on our china mugs, so it was an absolute joy to work with Annabel on these again.
When I first met Annabel, I was living in Kenya at a breathtaking lodge called , under the wonderfully nurturing guidance of Sue and Willie Roberts. Around that same time, a young cheetah cub who was then named Sheba had just been brought in for Sue and Willie to care for and hand-raise, with the eventual aim of releasing her back into the wild, which was a success.
I fell completely in love with Sheba. She was enormous fun, full of character, and as she grew, her mischievous side grew right along with her. She kept us constantly on our toes. I quickly learned never to fall asleep with her on a chair, she would inevitably wee in her sleep, and I’d wake up completely covered!
Sheba brought pure, unfiltered joy to us all. Watching her chase waterbuck, only for them to suddenly turn and chase her instead, was endlessly entertaining and utterly unforgettable.
I will write the full story of Sheba in a blog and post it on my return to the UK, she really was remarkable.

Kind Wednesday
Kindness isn’t perfection. It isn’t getting everything right. It isn’t never disappointing anyone.
It’s intention. It’s heart. It’s trying.
I am incredibly sensitive. If I ever upset someone, it would never be deliberate, but I’ll carry it with me for months. I’ll replay it, analyse it, wish I’d said it differently. If I forget a simple “thank you” or “please”, I’m so cross with myself… and then I over-correct by thanking someone ten times and apologising profusely.
A lot of that comes from being bullied when I was younger. Sensitivity always starts somewhere, doesn’t it?
But I’m learning that kindness also has to extend inward. I try not to let my sensitivity run the show. I try to remember that being kind doesn’t mean being flawless. It means caring. It means showing up gently. It means owning it when you get it wrong and doing better next time.
So today, be kind. To others, yes,
But also to yourself.

Honeysuckle and Rose began with something simple, a love of beautiful paper and the belief that handwritten words still matter, a kind though, thinking of others.
What started at my mother’s desk has grown into a brand rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability, and kindness. Every card, homeware, mug and piece of stationery is thoughtfully designed, made in Britain, fully recyclable, and created in collaboration with small, family-run businesses, or individuals who care just as deeply as we do.
When you choose Honeysuckle and Rose, you’re choosing slower, more meaningful gifting. You’re supporting British makers. You’re helping us give back to charities close to our hearts. And you’re keeping the art of thoughtful correspondence and gifting alive.
Luxury should feel special, but it should also feel responsible.
I’m so grateful you’re here, whether you’ve ordered once or followed along quietly from the beginning. This little business means the world to me.
With love,
Miranda x

Three ways to feel really good about giving a gift
Make it unexpected, not just for birthdays or big moments, but “just because”.
Make it personal, something they genuinely need, love, or would never buy for themselves.
Make it meaningful, a gift that does good beyond the moment: made supporting another small business, made using a skill, sustainable, or giving back in a wider way.
Because the best gifts feel good twice. Our beautiful china mugs do exactly that, with every purchase donating to Tusk, helping protect and save Africa’s precious wildlife.

Today is World Cancer Day. In 2022 I was diagnosed.
Kindness helped me get through some of the worst bits. The phone calls from friends, the visits, the nurses that would hold my hands through all my procedures, they would mop my tears, tell me I was brave even when I wasn’t. They were incredible and to think I wasn’t their only patient. Their genuine care and compassion was everything to me.
The smallest gesture helped in more ways than people can ever imagine. No matter what you have going on in your life, try and be kind to yourself, then be kind to others.

Try and start the day being kind toy you, say something positive, smile in the mirror, laugh, sing happy songs. Commit to being kind to you first, then fill your day being kind to others. No one knows what anyone’s going through.
