Gone but not forgotten….

This is one of those pieces I considered keeping but it has now found it’s forever home 💜 Easily one of my favourite spheres, the purple was delicious and the patterning so unique.

The profusion of colors, patterns, and textures displayed by quartz is unmatched by any other mineral and makes it one of the most widely used gem materials.

The Greeks referred to quartz as krystallos, meaning “ice,” and this name is the origin of the word crystal. Citrine (yellow to orange), amethyst (purple), rock crystal (colorless), smoky (brown to gray) and rose (pink) are some of the most common varieties of quartz.

Real or fake?

The colours in real Malachite are all shades of green, from soft, light and pale greens to very dark greens. Synthetic Malachite will often be medium green and black, with harsh contrast between the lines. They also tend to be a lot more uniform, whereas real Malachite won't have a repeating pattern.

This piece is of course very real, and is putting on an absolute show 🤟🏼
