Regulated body = better learning!

Heavy work before table work isn’t a trick; it’s nervous system support.

When kids push, pull, carry, or climb, their bodies receive deep pressure input that helps them feel calm, grounded, and organized.

That’s why after heavy work you’ll often see:
đź’šBetter focus
đź’šFewer Big feelings
đź’šEasier transitions to seated tasks

Wanting to practice and learn in the moment

If bedtime suddenly turns into a stream of questions, stories, and non stop talking.

This is often called the bedtime window.
It’s the moment when a child’s nervous system finally slows down.

The day is over. The lights are dim. Their body feels safe.
And all the thoughts and emotions they held in finally come out.

This happens because kids spend the day managing expectations, transitions, and stimulation

When the pressure lifts, their brain looks for connection and release.

Emotionally, this is a trust moment.
They’re telling you: “This is when I feel safe enough to share.”

How to support it:
• Build in 5–10 minutes of quiet connection before lights out
• Listen without rushing or fixing
• Reflect back what you hear (“That sounds like it was hard”)
• Offer reassurance, then gently guide toward sleep

It’s regulation, processing, and connection, all wrapped into one.
And those few extra minutes often matter more than we realize
