How it started Vs How it's going

We began our journey in 2020 when we started making our first yakitori skewers and serving them to the public at our local jumble trail. We didn't really know what we were doing too much at the time. One thing we did get right was the tare. All we had was a tepenyaki grill and a lot of patience.

Since then, we've taken the time to learn and understand the art behind the perfect tasting skewer. We've learned how important the grill is and coal management too as well as the way you cut the chicken. It's a delicate art that takes up hours, days and months of your life and you'll never be fully satisfied with it.

I'm incredibly proud to see how far we've come and to see my cousins grow during that time too. These are shared experiences that we'll each live with for years to come.

We're back at the Francis Road Jumble Trail in Leyton this Sunday! Please come down and join us if you can. Card and cash payments accepted (card would be preferred of course).

The chicken (and the tare sauce) is 100% halal and contains no alcohol in it either.

We're looking forward to seeing you! Check the link in our bio to find the map on locating us! :)

Shio Vs Tare

There are many ways people love to enjoy yakitori over binchotan coals. Two of the kinds we like the most are either shio (yakitori with salt) or with tare (yakitori with the dipping sauce)

The cuts of the chicken taste differently according to how you season it and what you use.

For example, as chicken breast tends to not be as moist as thighs, you'll often find it served with no tare (or a tiny bit) but with a speck of either wasabi or ume paste (salted pickled plums)

In this video, can you guess which skewers have the tare on it?

Put your earpods and headphones on

The only sound better is burning binchotan.

On our first year anniversary since we started serving yakitori to our community, I wanted to mark it by celebrating our team.

Aside from being family, they all come with an array of skills which make them invaluable during our preparing, cooking and serving process.

Proud to be working alongside this crazy bunch at the Francis Road Street Party yesterday ❤️

Hope we get to do many more!

Exciting news. We're really excited to be working alongside in Leytonstone and supporting them to help raise funds for their big refurb.

They're currently shut at the moment but will be coming back with a bang on the 12th of June. They'll have stalls on the day where you can enjoy delicious food from 10 to 4pm. We'll be serving our yakitori from 11 to 2 on the day, so pop by and say hello!

Absolutely shattered but incredibly pleased with our turnout at our yakitori stall for the earlier today! We wanted to thank all of our returning loyal friends who came back after visiting us last year and also new friends we've made today too! I wanted to take the time to thank my aunt Sahina and cousins Zaima, Iffath, Mahdi and Zakiyah (who you've all seen and spoken to by now!) who have been working non-stop in helping me turn a dream into a reality. I couldn't have done this without them.

I'd also like to give an extra shoutout this year to Cem from who you may have seen hovering around helping us capture and document the day on film and video. He's been taking some amazing footage and pictures which we'll be sharing with you on here over the next few days and weeks. If you're ever after a content creator, please do hit him up!
