A Book of Simples published in 1908 by Sampson Low and printed by the Chiswick Press. The book is a printing of a hand written manuscript that would have been used in a great house. The manuscript was found in the library of an Essex antiquary.
The recipes date from the late 17th to the middle 18th centuries.
