Join us for our end of summer event when we see the return of 𝗗𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗸 𝗔. 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 to the shop and in conversation with author, 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘀.

Bardowell’s latest book 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹: A Legacy of Sound, Style and Struggle is an unapologetic tribute to the beauty and brutality of dancehall music. It traces the collision of sound, style and struggle that created one of the most influential cultural movements of the past half-century. Blending in-depth social history and journalistic insight with the movement’s revolutionary spirit, Bardowell explores how the pulse of dancehall speaks to migrations, masculinity, faith, freedon and the ongoing fight for self-detemination to reveal how a sound became a global language of liberation.

👋🏼 And hands up who remembers the last time Derek was here with us? It was with ‘Giving Back: How to do Good Better’. Jon would be really chuffed to know Derek is returning to Bookseller Crow with this new book and in conversation with Diana Evans 🙂

Book your ticket now for our next author event here in the shop with Emma Warren in conversation with Travis Elborough.

UP THE YOUTH CLUB is a love letter by renowned cultural documentarian Emma Warren, and is a searching look at the rise and fall of the youth club, highlighting the seismic impact they have had on UK culture and why we need to ensure their existence for future generations.
