Sometimes its the simple things. We can be quick to do things ourselves and keep our toddlers out of the way.

But…there are benefits to them helping out:

⭐️ Fostering independence
⭐️ Developing motor skills
⭐️ Purposeful play

It keeps them busy too. Our 18 month enjoys unloading the dishwasher (lower rack) putting things in the bin, putting food shopping away and cleaning up.

It probably won’t last for long so I’ll embrace it for now 😂

17 months in and our Montessori toy rotation inspired shelf is up! Taking notes years back from a close friend .and.sons who embodied everything Montessori and I saw the impact on her boys. I knew I would want to take this approach one day.

Decluttering toys and allowing space for your little one to focus their attention on a few toys rather than becoming overwhelmed can make such a difference. Less is really more here.

We often ask people not to gift us toys:

1. We live in a flat and there is no storage for it all but also the more space you have, the more you will store. We want to avoid clutter.

2. We prefer the wooden toys over plastic toys (don’t get me wrong, we have a few)

3. We have THE AMAZING toy subscription so there is no need for additional toys

These toys are perfectly designed for every milestone and tailored to their development needs at that age 🌟

WORLD BREASTFEEDING MONTH

From tongue tie, lactation consultants and all the advice, we found our way.

Coming to the end of our breastfeeding journey. Over 425 days and a gazillion hours of breastfeeding, it was a marathon but in awe of how I grew and nurtured my baby with my milk.

My top tips:

🤱🏽 it’s a rhythm and you will find it
🤱🏽 trust your gut
🤱🏽 there are ways to increase your milk supply
🤱🏽 many people are told they don’t have the supply to breastfeed - seek a second opinion
🤱🏽 enjoy the bonding experience and the moments where a feed can be the only thing that gives them comfort to settle 🤪
