White Cedar Smudging :

These silvery green needle-like ‘leaves’, are from some of the oldest species of tree to inhabit our Earth. These evergreen trees have been traced back millions of years, before the Mezoic era and are known as living fossils of the ancient world.

This genus of Incense Cedar is related to Thuja, grown in North America. They have been collected and bundled by hand.

Aromatic branches of White Cedar are often used in Sweat Lodges, to attract positive energies and wash away lower energy forms.

Not as heady as white sage, rather the scent of Cedar is more woody, evergreen and softly aromatic. The healing white smoke, to me, is a powerful cleanser of emotions - when they become too overwhelming to comprehend with rationality.

Lighting a smudge and washing the crown of your head with the billowing smoke, is soothing for the Soul. Allowing evergreen, woody, stability, to wrap around your torso, a tender embrace from Nature.

In these unsettling transitional times we face, such spiritual tools have become a necessary tonic to balance, when all words and human support systems fail.

Dream Time : Blue Lotus

Blue Lotus flower petals are a powerful tonic to enhance dreaming abilities. Working on the third eye,
It can feel there is vision, even with eyes closed

The effect is subtle, yet also not. In sleeping time we are more sensitive and experiences enhanced

Try working with a little spoon full to begin with, steeped in boiling spring water, for around five-ten minutes. Then increase and find your dose

Best done with a calm, balanced mind. Your heart in the love frequency. You can add some chamomile, vervain or rose also to enhance this.

It can calm anxiety however having a practice of alchemising fear is a good tool, when working with dreams. Dreams often tap into what is hidden, what we suppress

Coming back to the deep, rhythmical breath if things come up. Dropping into loving positive thoughts, will always alchemise and rebalance

Dream journaling also enhances the experience and shows you are available to dive deeper. Dreams are symbolic so it can take time and lateral thinking to decode them

In the fullness of Summer, slowing down to meet the frequency of nature

Aligning with plants & trees to ground & exchange energy. What we omit, they absorb and vice versa.

Emotional benefits of aligning with flowers, plants and trees are immediate. Inhaling pure aromatics (as well as natural incense sticks and organics) positively effect the limbic brain - the part responsible for emotions and behaviours. When we have an imbalance, our brain changes our sense of smell and taste.

Natural scents and flavours we are drawn to, are likely able to rebalance us. It’s interesting to look up the properties of plants we like and take internal note.
