Basic Service

What you need if you just want someone to look your bike over and make sure it’s safe and roadworthy. Intended for bikes that are clean (including the drivetrain) or possibly coming out of storage and

are kept in good shape.

-check headset, bottom bracket and hubs for correct adjustment

-check wheels

-check and adjust brakes for optimum operation

-check drive train for wear

-check and adjust gears for optimum operation

-check general frame and fork alignment

-check all other bolts


General Service

This is our popular service option, and we recommend that your bike has a general service every 6-12 months, especially if you are commuting on it. (If bike and drivetrain is covered with oil and grease, General Service is what you need.) We'll inspect the bike and follow up with report/assessment of parts the need to be replaced.

-brake and gear cables checked for wear & damage, then replaced if necessary

-drivetrain removed, degreased/washed, refitted and re-lubricated.

-full gear index performed.

-wheel hubs, bottom bracket and headset adjusted.

-wheels trued/spokes tensioned.

-frame, fork and wheels cleaned.

-reassemble brakes and adjusted.

-bike taken out and test ridden, making sure it is safe and roadworthy


Full Service

This is our most comprehensive service and is for the serious rider the bike that you cherish and is a full stripdown and rebuild

-complete strip down and rebuild

-frame reamed and faced where necessary

-all components and parts individually serviced

-spoke tensions balanced & wheels re-trued

-new gear and brake cables

-full frame and fork strip down and parts clean

-bottom bracket removed and serviced

-headset stripped down and re-greased

-hub service

-Extras Internal cabling/disc brake hose installation + £10 per item

-Extra Hydraulic bleed + £15 per item

Vaidas Bicycles is the epitome of a local bike shop — a shop that has, over the last 10 years integrated into the local community, providing cyclists of all stripes with quality service and, most importantly, a lack of pretence. The shop has strived, as they say, to create an atmosphere where there's "no need to put on your bike shop face" — something even the most seasoned cyclists among us can appreciate.

Focusing on Road/Hybrid cycles, we also offer custom bike builds and hand built wheels. Stockists of Genesis, Cinelli, Ridgeback, Saracen, Tern, Forme & Raleigh bikes. We also stock a range of parts and accessories from most major brands. Service Costs; Service “BRONZE” - £30 A mini service where we check the road worthy condition of your bike for rider/parent piece of mind. The work will cover the following: Visual inspection of the bike to assess the condition. Tyres checked for wear and inflated to correct pressure. Check and tighten all nuts and bolts. Oil chain and cables. Adjust brake cables. Bike is test ridden. Customer advised of any additional work that may need to be done. Service “SILVER” (General) - £60 Recommended every 6 months depending on use. As per “BRONZE” service plus: Frame cleaned, checked for damage and alignment. Headset checked for play and adjusted. BB checked for play and adjusted. Wheels checked for wear and damage, bearings checked for play and free movement. Spokes tensioned and wheels trued. Drive chain cleaned, lubed and checked for wear. Gears adjusted. Brakes checked for effective operation and adjusted. Recommended for Hybrid Bikes or cycles used mainly for commuting. Service "GOLD” (Full) - £120 Full strip down to bare frame and forks. As per “SILVER” service plus: All Cables & Break Pads replaced. Bar tape replaced. Frame cleaned, checked for damage and alignment, threads in frame checked and cleaned. Hubs stripped, inspected, cleaned, re-greased and re-assembled. BB removed, cleaned, checked for play and refitted. All other components removed, inspected, cleaned, lubricated and refitted. Post Service sizing to ensure proper fit of cycle. Recommended for Road Bikes.
