Handmade by Sue Jenkins Purveyor of vintage-inspired loveliness
Children's knitwear hand crafted in natural yarns: organ I’m happy to discuss commissions.

I like to knit with organic cotton, milk protein, virgin wool, linen, silk, alpaca – if it feels good in my hands while I’m knitting, I know it will feel good against a child’s delicate skin. All my knitwear are one-off designs, hand-crafted and inspired by the knitting patterns of the 1940s and 50s. My vintage soy wax ‘tea lights’ are scented with pure essential oils of rose, geranium, lavender, chamomile and more. Each of my candles is made in a recycled vintage teacup or jug which, once used, can be refilled with a candle or used for its original purpose. All of my materials are eco-friendly, responsibly sourced or recycled.

Finally grafted my toe - quite happy with the result, but I’m now wondering where to tie off. The whole thing about making my own socks is that I can pander to my sensitive feet and make sure the seams are flat or seamless. My toes are sensitive to knots too (I know, it’s truly pathetic!) so I’ll be tying off on the outside of the sock 💕
I’m going to make the second sock before attempting the heels 💕

So I’m leaving the heal for now and racing on down to the toe - apparently it’s called Kitchener Stitch, that grafting the two edges together that people do so effortlessly and I always make a mess of. And I think I might have known that in the dim and distant past 😂

Looking forward to making these lovely Rose Trellis socks 💕 gorgeous hand dyed yarn from The Camel’s Yarn • Hannah Oldershaw and sock kit from Stitches and Cream 💕
I’m not a natural sock maker- when I first started I would avoid socks like the plague. A short ‘god,no!’ was the usual response to anyone asking me if I make them 😄
I’ve been making socks for a few years now but I’m still a novice, and these socks have a couple of new techniques I’m going to have to get my head round 💕
