Lilac & Lace Floral Design

Lilac & Lace Floral Design Rebecca creates stunning designs for weddings, sourcing as much locally as possible. I am Rebecca and I am excited to bring you Lilac & Lace Floral Design.

I love all things floral and I hope you agree that my designs are a reflection of that. I want my designs to celebrate the flowers themselves, from the long elegant stem of a Calla Lily to the stunning scent of David Austin Roses. My style is very much English Country Garden with the odd contemporary design thrown in. When I am not in my Studio, I am with my mischievous 2 year old daughter, Mia. S

he is my everything, my inspiration, my muse. She like me, loves the outdoors, being in the garden and wildlife. It must be said, I haven’t always been a Florist, I started out as a Meteorologist working for the likes of the Met Office, ITV and Sky News. I did thoroughly enjoy my time forecasting the weather, but my creative side was screaming to be let out. One year, my Husband booked me on to the ‘Introduction to Floristry course’ at Hadlow College and I have never looked back! I trained under the very talented Lesley Young and Tracy Benton, and they moulded my raw potential into the Florist you see today.

Ukrainian couple Viktoriia and Ivan are marrying today with the most exquisite flowers.

Viktoriia chose whites, blush pinks, steely blues and burgundies, with blousy Peony and Roses, delicate Cornflower and Sweet Peas, alongside spires of Larkspur. Her bouquet was full to bursting with detail and texture, and it was an absolute joy to create.

A huge thank you to our amazing growers

and of course, the LLFD growing plot.

The couple are ending their day at Ole Kyiv Restaurant. I wish you both every happiness.

Such a gorgeous, gorgeous day for Holly and Gok who married earlier

Holly chose beautiful pastels in a wildflower style, with all Kent grown Daisy, Nepeta, Sweet Peas and more.

made the most beautiful cake with sugar flowers that looked so real, they tricked us all.

It was so lovely to play a small part in Holly and Gok's today, and I cannot wait to see how captures it all.

Huge congratulations to you both! Have the best evening celebrating your love.

When you fully understand your bouquet holding assignment..

Over the years, I have made many a beautiful tear drop bouquet only to see them inexplicably held upside down, inside out and the wrong way around 🤪

Julie knew what she had to do

and in

EVERY SINGLE SHOT!

These images from Ryan make my heart sing with joy. Each one captures Julie's bouquet in all its British grown, April glory and I squealed with happiness when I saw them. Not least, because Julie and Dave are couple goals!

This week, florists and growers all over the country celebrate British Flowers Week.. the exquisite scent, the pure magic and the incredible beauty.. They really are second to none!

For us, its British Flowers Week every week

24/7, 365, 52 weeks a year

I love them and wouldn't have a business without them, and it is truly lovely to see British Flowers embraced, loved and celebrated by so many this week.

What's so special about British flowers?

🌿 Provenance - Knowing where and how each stem is grown and by who. Supporting my local growers is so incredibly important to me. The love, care, blood, sweat and tears that goes into every stem makes them so so special.

🌿 Exquisite - British flowers just hit different. Their gorgeous scent, the twiddly stems, their personality - it really elevates your wedding flowers and makes them truly unique.

🌿 Biodiversity - British grown flowers are often grown alongside nature. They support and nurture pollinators, our native birds and other animals that have a truly wonderful symbiotic relationship.

🌿 Local - Supporting our small artisan growers keeps money in our local economies and helps small businesses survive in such a tough climate.

and so much more!

"It was such a joy to have Rebecca provide florals for our wedding. She was amazing from the very first email we sent her - very helpful, friendly, professional, and giving us great advice. Her flowers on the day of were absolutely stunning - the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, the decorations, the arch - a beautiful mix of various types of flowers in cream, ivory, white and light pink. She was truly a trooper doing it all! She puts so much love, care, and heart into her work and it is absolutely beautiful.

Would highly recommend Rebecca - thank you Rebecca, we are so blessed to have you for our wedding!"

Where do your Wedding flowers come from?

As a Wedding Florist who works exclusively with British grown flowers, I feel it is important to be open and honest about where they come from.

Last week, I had needed a lot of flowers for Katie and Matt's wedding at Bore Place, which meant I spent all of last Thursday driving around Kent and East Sussex collecting flowers from my incredible network of local growers.

It took 6 different growers and the .sussexflowergrowercollective to bring together everything and a 119 mile round trip.

Now, I know some people with think that's utter madness, but I am committed to British grown and supporting my absolutely incredible network of wonderful growers.

Team work makes the dream work, as they say! and the wedding was just beautiful!

A huge thank you to

Huge congratulations to Katie and Matt who married earlier at the incredible

Katie and Matt chose a gorgeous pastel colour scheme and an abundance of hand-dyed silk ribbons from which I turned into bunting for them.

I adored this wedding and this couple, and love every second of creating something a little different. All British grown flowers, as always.

A massive thank you tosussexflowergrowercollective

Yesterday, an incredible group of people came together for a Conscious Connections event

Both Michelle and Fleur spoke passionately about the SWA, our Industry and what Sustainability means to them.

We also heard from Stacey who explained what 2026 Wedding Couples want and need from their suppliers.

I spoke about floral mechanics, what and how I use them, and had a hands on display for people to really get a much deeper understanding. Each table had our Plot grown flowers with the mechanics left exposed to help show how each arrangement was created.

It was a great few hours of like-minded people, with amazing conversation, and everyone left with a spring in their step and a renewed fire in their belly.

Words are hard to find to express the pure joy we had for our flowers for our Spring Wedding. Meeting Rebecca at The Plough where we had booked to Marry. We were blown away by the delicate beauty of the flowers they truly looked unreal!

Then speaking to Rebecca we got to know her passion and pure enjoyment she gets from being a florist. Also what a really lovely lady she is....

We didn't want silk flowers for our Wedding, it was definitely going to be fresh flowers as we both love flowers. Rebecca introduced us to her world of floristry being ecofriendly and sustainable, we loved this! Knowing that the bulbs would be planted to grow for our Wedding was so special. Rebecca then introduced us to flowers which would be seasonal for April... well the different array of tulips we never knew existed! Gave us a whole new outlook on them and the beautiful flowers including blossom which we wanted. I'm now obsessed with tulips!

From receiving our proposal to the meetings, Rebecca really understood our vision of romance and soft tones of ivory, peach, apricot to fit our romantic theme for the Barn. Every message over the 2 years Rebecca replied with ideas and tweaking our design.

My bouquet was just stunning I cried happy tears of joy, mine and the bridesmaids bouquets were just beautiful. Then seeing all the bud vases and Ceremony table display set up for the Ceremony then the tables for the Wedding Breakfast was just perfect!

Thankyou also Rebecca for making sure my Mum's photo was tightly attached to my bouquet and the beautiful display of flowers for my Mum's well you knew how important this was to me.

The buttonholes were perfect as were the corsages and Mother of the Grooms thankyou bouquet . Being able to have the candles and vases from the ceremony, Wedding Breakfast through to the evening was perfect!

We can't thank Rebecca enough for listening and making our vision a reality, you are truly an amazing lady...

Thank you thank you ###
