I was lucky enough to spend Father’s Day with my husband, our daughter, and my dad. We had a wonderful day at RHS Garden Wisley, exploring the gardens, wandering through all the different areas, and, of course, stopping for an ice cream.
As we walked, we found ourselves reminiscing about the early days of the business. I remembered calling my dad when I received my very first online order, and then again when my first trade order came through. (A little fun fact: Dan was actually the second ever order on my website — and we were just friends back then!)
My dad came to every trade fair with me, helping me set up stands that often ended in fits of giggles thanks to our shared inability to hang anything straight. A few years later, Dan came on the scene. As a painter, decorator, and all-round handyman at the time, he quickly replaced our wonky shelves and crooked displays with perfect symmetry and precision!
Both of them have been incredibly supportive throughout the last 15 years. It was so lovely to reflect on how far the business has come, how much has changed, and how exciting it is to see it continue to grow.
Most of all, I felt grateful for the wonderful fathers they are. Watching my dad become such an amazing grandad to our daughter is something I treasure, and Dan is the most loving, patient, and supportive dad she could wish for. My father-in-law is also truly wonderful and has always been so supportive, and I feel incredibly lucky to have such caring, encouraging men in both my life and my daughter’s life.
A Happy belated Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads, and father figures who support, encourage, and cheer us on every step of the way. ❤️
