We currently have five Steinway & Sons grand pianos on display in Osaka.
Two Hamburg-made B-211s, a walnut Chippendale S-155, a black O-180, and a 1926 New York-made A3.
It’s quite interesting to have such different Steinways together in one place, each with its own character and history.
If you happen to be interested, you are very welcome to come and play them. Trial playing by appointment is now available.
I hope to have the opportunity to share these beautiful instruments with fellow piano lovers.

🗻 RED FUJI — A SYMBOL OF GOOD FORTUNE IN JAPAN 🇯🇵

We are proud to introduce our “Red Fuji” Chinkin Art Guitar, a unique creation combining a fine electric guitar with the beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.

In Japan, Aka-Fuji (Red Fuji) is considered an especially auspicious image.

The rare sight of Mount Fuji glowing red at sunrise has traditionally been associated with good fortune, success, prosperity, and the fulfillment of wishes.

For this guitar, the image of Mount Fuji has been carefully created using Chinkin (gold-inlaid engraving), a traditional Japanese lacquer technique in which delicate patterns are engraved into the surface and highlighted by hand.

The red of Mount Fuji contrasts beautifully with the deep black lacquer, while delicate cherry blossoms add another symbol of Japanese beauty and the fleeting nature of life.

This is more than an electric guitar.

It is a piece of Japanese culture, craftsmanship, and symbolism, created to bring a wish for good fortune to its owner.

Bringing Kyoto’s Tradition to Your Everyday Table.

We are pleased to announce that Re Tone’s
“Maki-e Spoon with Kyoto Opal”
has been selected for the “Kyoto Souvenir General Election in Kyoto Station”, organized by the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The spoon is crafted from high-quality wood left over from the production of grand pianos.

Carefully selected wood is finished with natural lacquer using the traditional Japanese Fuki-Urushi technique, then combined with Maki-e, one of Japan’s finest traditional crafts, and Kyoto Opal, a beautiful innovative material developed by Kyocera.

The Kyoto Opal reveals a captivating play-of-color effect, changing its appearance depending on the angle of light.

“Giving new value to materials that might otherwise be discarded.”

Wood originally selected for the creation of a grand piano is given a new life as a beautiful spoon for your everyday table.

A masterpiece is taking shape.

We are currently creating a grand piano Music Desk for the Yamaha Grand Piano CX Series, featuring The Great Wave off Kanagawa, meticulously handcrafted using the traditional Japanese Chinkin (gold-inlaid engraving) technique.

Every line is engraved entirely by hand by a master artisan, requiring approximately four months to complete.

A 100-Year-Old Steinway & Sons A3 from New York

Made at the Steinway factory in New York in 1926, this Steinway & Sons A3 has now reached its 100th anniversary.

For a century, this piano has carried the history of its time — through its craftsmanship, materials, design, and musical character.

Historic pianos possess something that cannot simply be recreated in a new instrument: a sense of history and individuality that has developed over decades.

At Shinwa Music, we carefully restore and prepare historic pianos so that they can continue their journey with a new owner and bring music to the next generation.

Another Maki-e Piano Has Found Its New Home Overseas 🌏🎹

I am delighted to share that this one-of-a-kind Yamaha grand piano C3L, decorated with authentic Japanese Maki-e lacquer art, has been sold to an overseas customer.

Each Maki-e piano is handcrafted by skilled Japanese artisans, blending the beauty of traditional craftsmanship with the timeless elegance of a grand piano.

Seeing Japanese artistry appreciated beyond our borders reminds us that craftsmanship has the power to connect cultures through music and art.
